Recap by phillip woo

Telecom Power travelled one off from better than midfield and just got up by a bob of the heads for a first win at his 18th local start. He had been threatening to salute all season long. Well-backed Always My Folks found one just too good after reclaiming the lead close to home after handing up the front to Bits Superstar 700m out. It was a better effort. Bits Superstar grudgingly gave way after advancing to the lead 650m out from a middle draw. It was clearly his best effort from 11 local runs with a move to a seven-pound claimer. Excellent Peers ran on well near the inside for fourth after making his run two from the rear. He keeps promising without delivering on his 11 starts this term. Shotgun made ground late near the inside for fifth after making his towards the rear from gate 11. It was his best effort from four starts. Super Charizzard ran on steadily without threatening from behind midfield. Loveisintheair produced only a mild bid down the outside after making his run three from the rear. Favourite Aurio was deemed a runner despite falling in the gate after rearing at the jump.

Racing Incident Report

Race Six : (655) - THE FRANCE GALOP CUP (HANDICAP) - Class 4 - 1200Meters

Horse No 1 MULTIDUTCH (K171) Y L Chung Shifted out approaching the 300 Metres and was bumped.

Horse No 2 AURIO (K056) Z Purton Prior to declaring weighed-in the Stewards gave consideration as to whether AURIO had been denied a fair start.

After taking evidence from Starter Mr A Speechley, rider Z Purton and Trainer D A Hayes, the Stewards found that AURIO reared simultaneously with the start being effected, resulting in it failing to jump with the field and its rider Z Purton being dislodged.

As the Steward were satisfied that such occurrence occurred simultaneously to the start being effected, AURIO was declared a runner.

A veterinary inspection immediately following the race found that horse to have sustained abrasions to its left hock and left hind fetlock.

Before being allowed to race again, AURIO will be required to perform satisfactorily in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

Sent for sampling post-race.
