Lady's Choice led from gate four and edged clear late for a sixth win from 31 starts. He lived up to a cracking second after prompting a hot pace last start at this level. Bottomuptogether had his chance but found one too good after a speed tracking run from gate six. It was another good run carrying 10 pounds more. Tomodachi Kokoroe injected further value to the tierce after a wide with cover trip from midfield. It was a good run after coming out of a last start defeat on dirt lame and with a heart irregularity. Chiu Chow Spirit ran on well for fourth after a wide with cover trip from behind midfield. He rarely produces a bad run. Favourite Fast Network made a mild bid after a rail run travelling worse than midfield. He couldn't lift carrying top weight following back-to-back wins. Dancing Code ran on late for sixth after making his run third last from gate 11. Invincible Shield only plodded when asked for an effort after a handy run. He failed to lift carrying seven pounds more with a step back in distance after a third straight win.

Approaching the 350 Metres was shifted to the outside of WHIZZ KID to obtain clear running and as a result made contact with INVINCIBLE SHIELD.

Near the 250 Metres made contact with INVINCIBLE SHIELD due to both runners shifting ground.

After the event H Bowman reported that the horse made a respiratory noise during the running of the race.

A veterinary inspection immediately following the race found that horse to have an epiglottic entrapment.

Sent for sampling post-race.

Horse No 2 BOTTOMUPTOGETHER (J316) Z Purton Sent for sampling post-race.

Horse No 3 WUNDERBAR (H411) B Avdulla After the event B Avdulla advised that the instructions were to obtain a position with cover.

He said WUNDERBAR initially responded to his riding in the early part of the Home Straight but its run ended near the 150 Metres.

A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

GENERAL:

1.

Trainer D A Hayes was fined the sum of $12,000 for a breach of Rule 50(3) of having failed to fulfil his responsibilities in complying with a proper direction issued by the Club that restricted the number of horses permitted to work on the Large All Weather Track, in that he worked four additional horses on that track at this morning's track work session.

In assessing penalty the Stewards took into consideration the breach was an oversight on behalf of the stable and Mr Hayes had reported the matter to the Stewards.
