Recap by phillip woo

King Lotus showed a good turn of foot to get up in the concluding stages with one wider out after a patient ride fourth last from gate six. It was a vastly improved effort at his second start. Plunged to jump favourite, Galaxy Witness came up a neck short after shifting off heels for a clear run with two wider out at the 250m out travelling third last from gate five. He's a winner waiting to happen if he remains in the grade. Fortune Whiskey was overhauled late after leading 100m out sitting third and wide without cover the entire trip from gate seven. He was able to back up a placing last start. Sight Happy ran on steadily for fourth after making his run two or three deep with cover travelling midfield. He had no excuse. It was a long way back to the tiring Mega Bonus, who made the running from gate 11. Early favourite New Power didn't find much when push came to shove after a one-out, one-back run. It was an out-of-character performance after back-to-back placings. Victor The Rapid ran on without threatening from near the rear.
