Recap by phillip woo

Winning Gold pressed forward to track the speed 1,150m out before hitting the front 350m out and finding plenty for a fifth win from 19 starts and third from 12 outings this term. Morgan Success ran on nicely for second after coming to the final bend three wide with cover travelling midfield. He's a winner waiting to happen. Huge Wave closed off well with one wider out for third after making his run four from the rear. It was a good run in a race not run to suit. Magnificent Nine ran on steadily for fourth without threatening the top three after a one-off trip from just off midfield. It was another honest performance. Romantic Laos made ground late near the inside for fifth after a patient ride three from the rear. It was a good run outside his comfort zone at the Valley. Tourbillon Prince kept on one-paced after peeling off the tiring leader Definitive 300m out following a prominent run on the fence.

Racing Incident Report

Race Ten : (687) - SHENZHEN CENTRE 1600M HANDICAP - Class 3 - 1600Meters

Horse No 1 TOURBILLON PRINCE (H122) P N Wong Near the 1400 Metres became unbalanced when it shifted in towards the running rail.

When questioned Apprentice P N Wong stated that her instructions were to lead if circumstances permitted.

She said TOURBILLON PRINCE jumped only fairly and she then rode it along to comply with her instructions.

She said when positioned to the inside of DEFINITIVE in the early stages she was reluctant to continue to urge her mount forward as she was concerned that TOURBILLON PRINCE may commence to race keenly and for this reason she held her mount together and allowed DEFINITIVE to cross in the early stages.

After considering her explanation and taking into account the sectional times of the race which showed the early and middle stages were run outside of standard time, Apprentice Wong was advised that, in the opinion of the Stewards, she had made an error of judgement in that she did not ride her mount in a more decisive manner to comply with her instructions to lead.

Trainer T P Yung confirmed the instructions issued.

Horse No 2 HUGE WAVE (J197) H Bowman Approaching the 700 Metres was steadied away from MORGAN SUCCESS and as a result shifted out and made contact with CHING.

Horse No 4 NOBLE PURSUIT (H324) E C W Wong From the outside barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.

Horse No 5 ROMANTIC LAOS (G476) C L Chau From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.

Near the 400 Metres was held up for clear running behind SUPREME AGILITY.

Between the 200 Metres and the 100 Metres had difficulty obtaining clear running when improving into a narrow run to the inside of DEFINITIVE which was giving ground.

Horse No 7 STAR MAC (J053) A Atzeni Jumped only fairly.

A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Horse No 8 WINNING GOLD (H461) J Orman After the event J Orman advised that his instructions were to obtain a midfield position.

He said when caught wide in the early stages he elected to continue forward and race outside the lead to avoid covering additional ground.

Trainer W Y So confirmed the instructions issued.

Sent for sampling post-race.

Horse No 9 DEFINITIVE (K037) Z Purton On jumping bumped with MORGAN SUCCESS and became unbalanced.

After the event Z Purton reported that his mount raced too keenly in the lead and as a result when placed under pressure in the Home Straight did not respond to his riding.

A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Sent for sampling post-race.

Horse No 10 SUPREME AGILITY (J267) M Chadwick Jumped only fairly.

Between the 400 Metres and the 300 Metres was held up for clear running when unable to improve between TOURBILLON PRINCE and OUTGATE.

SUPREME AGILITY was then shifted to the inside of TOURBILLON PRINCE to obtain clear running.

Approaching the 200 Metres SUPREME AGILITY was again held up for clear running between TOURBILLON PRINCE and DEFINITIVE which was giving ground.

As a result SUPREME AGILITY could not be ridden out for the remainder of the event.

Horse No 11 MAGNIFICENT NINE (H433) A Badel Raced keenly in the early stages.

Horse No 12 CHING (G380) M F Poon Bumped near the 700 Metres.

After the event M F Poon reported that his mount raced very wide and without cover for the majority of the event and near the 200 Metres became unbalanced and did not finish the race off thereafter.

A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Horse No 13 MEGA FORCE (K200) K C Leung Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event.

Horse No 14 MORGAN SUCCESS (K203) L Hewitson On jumping bumped with DEFINITIVE and became unbalanced.
