Recap by phillip woo

After chasing the leader on the fence, debutant Voyage Boss kept finding to salute after hitting the lead 150m out. He lived up to some encouraging trials and will want a further trip in time. Early favourite Copartner Fleet grudgingly gave way after clearing to the lead from gate 12. It was fine effort by the first-time starter and he'll be winning shortly. Circuit Victory stayed on well to finish a close third after a handy run. He was able to build on a win last-start in Class Five. Debutant Auspicious Pursuit ran on well for fourth after easing three wide 650m out when travelling behind midfield. It was an encouraging effort. Post-time favourite Honest Witness only plodded when asked for an effort after a prominent run. He's gone all right in his three starts but is still a work in progress. Lakeshore Hero ran on near the outside for sixth after settling last from gate 13. He can produce a positive run now and then.

Racing Incident Report

Race Three : (699) - MAKARPURA STAR HANDICAP - Class 4 - 1200Meters

Horse No 1 GIDDY UP (J020) B Avdulla Bumped at the start.

Leaving the 700 Metres GIDDY UP improved to the outside of LOOKS OUTSTANDING after LOOKS OUTSTANDING shifted to the rail.

A short distance later CALL TO COMMAND was eased when racing tight to the inside of BILLION TWO.

As a consequence LOOKS OUTSTANDING was then checked to avoid CALL TO COMMAND and shifted out to avoid that runner, resulting in GIDDY UP being badly crowded for room between LOOKS OUTSTANDING and LOVEISINTHEAIR and being severely checked.

As the Stewards were satisfied that the pace of the event easing during that section of the race and the racing manners of LOOKS OUTSTANDING and GIDDY UP were contributing factors with this incident no action was taken.

A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Horse No 2 NORTHERN BEACHES (H266) T Marquand Jumped awkwardly, made contact with the left side of its barrier and lost ground.

Horse No 4 AUDACIOUS PURSUIT (K398) L Ferraris Shifted out approaching the winning post and was bumped.

Horse No 5 BILLION TWO (K212) Y L Chung After the 600 Metres became unbalanced when it made contact with CIRCUIT VICTORY whilst racing tight to the inside of that runner.

In the Home Straight lay in and proved difficult to ride out.

Noted to have blood at the left nostril after the race.

An endoscopic examination conducted on BILLION TWO found that there was no blood in its trachea and therefore the blood in the nostril was determined to be not coming from the lungs and as such the horse was deemed not to have bled.

Horse No 6 COPARTNER FLEET (K342) Z Purton Sent for sampling post-race.

Horse No 7 INNO SUPER (K319) A Atzeni On jumping was bumped by COPARTNER FLEET which shifted in, resulting in INNO SUPER becoming unbalanced.
