Racing Incident Report
Race Eight : (744) - PING TIN HANDICAP - Class 3 - 1400Meters
Horse No 1 BRILLIANT EXPRESS (J321) H Bowman Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event.
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 2 TOP GUN (J249) A Atzeni Crowded on jumping.
In the middle stages raced keenly.
Horse No 3 NUCLEOZOR (K285) E C W Wong On jumping shifted out, made contact with SUPER UNICORN and became unbalanced.
Leaving the 1100 Metres SUPER UNICORN shifted in and away abruptly from BRILLIANT EXPRESS and was quickly corrected by its rider M Chadwick.
As a result VIEW OF THE WORLD then shifted in and away from SUPER UNICORN as VIEW OF THE VIEW was also being corrected by its rider C L Chau, resulting in THE ABSOLUTE then being badly crowded for room by VIEW OF THE WORLD and having to be checked and THE ABSOLUTE then shifting in, badly crowding NUCLEOZOR which was severely checked when it lost its running.
As the Stewards were satisfied that both M Chadwick and C L Chau had made their best endeavours to prevent their mounts from shifting in no action was taken.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 4 SUPERB KID (H298) L Ferraris Bumped shortly after the start.
Near the 300 Metres was shifted to the outside of TOP GUN to obtain clear running and as a result made contact with SUPER UNICORN, resulting in SUPERB KID becoming slightly unbalanced.
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 5 VIEW OF THE WORLD (J348) C L Chau After the 1100 Metres shifted in and away from SUPER UNICORN and was corrected by its rider.
Horse No 6 DRAGON JOY (J278) J Orman Near the 600 Metres shifted in and made contact with FLYING KNIGHT when racing tight to the inside of BRILLIANT EXPRESS.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race revealed that the horse was displaying an irregular heart rhythm.
Before being allowed to race again, DRAGON JOY will be required to perform satisfactorily in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
Horse No 8 FLYING KNIGHT (K370) K C Leung Bumped near the 600 Metres.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 9 RISING FROM ASHES (G209) A Hamelin Passing the 1100 Metres was checked to avoid NUCLEOZOR when that runner lost ground quickly.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race found that horse to be a "roarer" which had previously been reported.
Horse No 10 GLORIOUS SUCCESS (K062) K Teetan Shifted in at the start, made heavy contact with TOP GUN and became badly unbalanced.
Horse No 11 IGOR STRAVINSKY (K086) Y L Chung Bumped at the start.
Horse No 12 ALL ROUND WINNER (K382) M L Yeung Bumped at the start.
Horse No 13 SUPER UNICORN (H481) M Chadwick Bumped at the start.
Shifted in abruptly leaving the 1100 Metres.
Bumped near the 250 Metres.
Horse No 14 THE ABSOLUTE (H438) L Hewitson Bumped shortly after the start.
Badly crowded and was checked after the 1100 Metres.

Super Kid ridden in midfield came off the fence at the 250m pole and quickened nicely to take control 30m out out for a third win from 14 starts. Brilliant Express found one too good after claiming the lead 100m out after sitting third and wide without cover from gate 13. He will be hard to beat from a better draw. Glorious Success ran on nicely for third after making his run three from the back. He has yet to miss the board without winning in three 1,400m runs. The Absolute came on late between runners near the inside for fourth after making his run four from the rear. Super Unicorn ran on steadily through the centre to just miss a top-four spot after a one-off trip from behind midfield. He'll be hard to beat if he can work his way back into Class Four. Eighty Light Years was on his tippy toes 100m out after dictating the pace from gate 10. Top Gun came up one paced over the last 100m after a wide trip with cover travelling midfield. Dragon Joy found nothing when asked for more after a one-off trip from better than midfield.
