Race Two : (748) - SHEUNG WAN HANDICAP - Class 4 - 1000Meters
Horse No 1 FLYING TING LOK (K228) H Bowman Near the 200 Metres was shifted to the outside of SPICY SPANGLE to obtain clear running and as a result made contact with HAPPY UNITED on a number of occasions.
Horse No 2 CANDLELIGHT DINNER (J468) J Orman Bumped shortly after the start.
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 3 HAPPY UNITED (H208) Y L Chung Leaving the 700 Metres got its head up when racing keenly.
Near the 200 Metres was bumped on a number of occasions and taken wider by FLYING TING LOK which shifted to the outside of SPICY SPANGLE to obtain clear running.
Horse No 4 HARMONY FIRE (E175) E C W Wong Bumped shortly the start.
Horse No 5 THOUSAND CUPS (J482) M L Yeung Bounded on jumping and as a result became unbalanced and lost ground.
Horse No 6 WINNING CIGAR (K422) Z Purton Near the 950 Metres got its head up when being shifted in to obtain cover.
Horse No 7 YOUNG STRIKER (K029) H Bentley Near the 350 Metres lay in when being steadied to avoid DIVINE MOONLIGHT.
After the event H Bentley reported that his mount raced greenly throughout the event.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 8 SPICY SPANGLE (J087) A Hamelin Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event.
Horse No 11 DAY DAY VICTORY (J423) A Badel Jumped awkwardly, made contact with the right side of its barrier and lost ground.
Leaving the 300 Metres was steadied and shifted to the inside of FLYING TING LOK to obtain clear running.

Favourite Candlelight Dinner pinged striaght to the front from gate eight and kept up a strong gallop for a first win at his 10th local start. Punted late Day Day Victory ran on nicely near the inside to grab second after biding his time four from the rear. It was his best effort from eight starts in Class Four after two wins in Class Five. Happy Boys ran on nicely near the outside for third after travelling three from the rear. It was his best effort from five starts. Flying Ting Lok stayed on well for fourth after a prominent run along the inside. It was an improved effort carrying top weight down in Class Four for the first time. Harmony Fire was one paced over the final 100m after settling one off in third with cover from gate nine. He's struggling to put his best foot forward this season. Spicy Spangle gradually faded after getting posted three deep chasing the leader from gate 11. He's one to keep safe from a better draw. Happy United whacked on one paced after getting bumped on a pair of occasions mid-straight following a one-off trip from better than midfield. He couldn't build on a runner-up effort last month.
