Racing Incident Report
Race Seven : (762) - THE HONG KONG UNIVERSITY ALUMNI ASSOCIATION CHALLENGE CUP(HANDICAP) - Class 4 - 1400Meters
Horse No 1 HAROLD WIN (J280) C L Chau Bumped on jumping.
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 2 AEROINVINCIBLE (J180) J Orman Raced keenly in the early stages and near the 900 Metres was steadied when racing in restricted room between LAKESHORE HERO and STRATHPEFFER.
After the event J Orman advised that his instructions were to ride his mount in a slightly more conservative manner than at its previous starts.
Horse No 3 MEOWTH (J487) L Ferraris Bumped at the start.
Between the 600 Metres and the 400 Metres was unable to improve forward when held up behind LITTLE SQUID as LITTLE SQUID was commencing to give ground.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 4 ENDUED (K033) H Bowman From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
Horse No 5 LUCKY ARCHANGEL (E385) M F Poon Bumped on jumping.
After the event M F Poon reported that making the Home Turn his mount made an abnormal breathing noise and gave ground thereafter in the Home Straight.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 6 STRANGE ALERT (K278) A Atzeni Between the 400 Metres and the 200 Metres was badly held up for clear running.
Horse No 7 CASA RUBICK (K299) B Thompson Bumped at the start.
Horse No 8 WORLD HERO (J413) A Badel Bumped shortly after the start when it shifted in.
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 9 METAL KING (K135) K C Leung Jumped only fairly and then shortly after the start was steadied when crowded between CASA RUBICK and MEOWTH which was taken in by LAKESHORE HERO.
Horse No 10 NOBLE FANS (K038) M L Yeung Shortly after the start raced in restricted room to the inside of WORLD HERO which shifted in slightly.
Raced wide and without cover from the 850 Metres.
Horse No 11 LUCKY STATEMENT (J521) P N Wong Leaving the 900 Metres made contact with the running rail.
Horse No 12 STRATHPEFFER (H095) L Hewitson Raced very wide and without cover for the majority of the event.
Horse No 13 LAKESHORE HERO (J288) B Avdulla Shifted in on jumping and bumped with MEOWTH.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 14 LITTLE SQUID (K050) Y L Chung After the event Y L Chung reported that his mount made an abnormal breathing noise during the race.
The performance of LITTLE SQUID, which finished tailed out, was considered unacceptable.
Before being allowed to race again, LITTLE SQUID will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Harold Win sat on the back of leader World Hero and took control 60m out for a second win from 17 starts. He's very effective down in Class Four. World Hero wouldn't go down without a fight after clearing to lead 1,000m out from gate 14. He continued to hold his condition well carrying six pounds more following a win. Strathpeffer ran on nicely for third after a wide with cover run travelling behind midfield from gate 11. He can produce a good run now and then over the 1,400m. Punted late Endued ran on nicely for fourth after making his run at the rear from gate 12. He was able to back up a handily ridden third last month over the Valley 1,200m. Lucky Statement ran on steadily for fifth after making his run five back on the fence. He's gone all right in two of his past three starts. Meowth only held his ground after a one-off trip from midfield with late betting action. He's in the right grade. Debutant Strange Alert ran on without threatening settling three from the rear as the early favourite. It was a positive effort at his first start.
