Flying Fortress reeled in favourite Super Express in the concluding stages after a one-off trip from behind midfield for a second win from his past four starts. Firming favourite Super Express did everything but get the win after moving to the lead near the 200m following a handy run along the inside. He continues to race well with three seconds after a win. Dazzling Fit ran on nicely near the outside for third after biding his time five back and three deep with cover from gate eight. It was another solid run up in grade following back-to-back wins. Huge Wave just missed a placing after getting held up late after a rails run from midfield. He's building towards a win. South Star just missed a top-four spot after having to hit the brakes late after a one-out, one-back run. It was another honest effort in a deep contest.

Racing Incident Report

Race Eleven : (777) - AMETHYST HANDICAP - Class 3 - 1400Meters

Horse No 1 GHORGAN (K199) K C Leung Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event.

.After the event K C Leung reported that the instructions were to take up a forward position.

He added these instructions were similar to those issued at its previous start.

Horse No 2 HUGE WAVE (J197) H Bowman The tongue tie was replaced at the Start.

Over the concluding stages raced tight to the inside of FLYING FORTRESS which shifted in.

Approaching the winning post HUGE WAVE was then steadied to avoid FLYING FORTRESS (H Bentley) which continued to shift in.

H Bentley was severely reprimanded and advised he must stop riding and straighten his mounts.

Horse No 3 PANACEA (K256) J Orman On jumping was bumped by STAR SATYR which shifted in.

From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.

For a short distance after the 400 Metres was held up for clear running.

Horse No 5 FLYING FORTRESS (J445) H Bentley Near the 1100 Metres was eased to avoid TARGET AUDIENCE (A Badel) which shifted in when not clear.

A Badel was advised to exercise more care.

Over the concluding stages lay in.

After the event H Bentley reported that approaching the winning post his mount shifted out abruptly, resulting in him having to correct it as he passed the winning post.

Sent for sampling post-race.

Horse No 6 DAZZLING FIT (K298) L Ferraris Shortly after the start was bumped.

Horse No 7 SOUTH STAR (K153) A Atzeni Between the 450 Metres and the 250 Metres was held up for clear running.

Over the final 50 Metres could not be fully ridden out to the finish when held up behind SUPER EXPRESS.

Horse No 8 STAR SATYR (K231) Y L Chung Bumped at the start.

After the event Y L Chung stated that he was obliged to make use of his mount from a wide barrier to go forward.

He said when SOUTH STAR improved to his outside on the Home Turn his mount immediately came under pressure and gave ground in the Home Straight.

A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Horse No 9 SUPER EXPRESS (K245) B Avdulla Sent for sampling post-race.

Horse No 10 FIGHTING MACHINE (J015) M L Yeung From the outside barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.

Horse No 11 LUCKY TWIN STARS (K126) K Teetan From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.

Horse No 12 SHAMUS STORM (K031) Z Purton Jumped only fairly.

When questioned Z Purton stated that making the Home Turn his intention was to improve to the inside of STAR SATYR to follow LIM'S SHAVANO into the race.

He said when STAR SATYR commenced to give ground quickly and he was concerned that runner would shift inside one wide, he was then obliged to severely check his mount leaving the 450 Metres to avoid STAR SATYR which resulted in his mount losing ground.

After considering the evidence the Stewards found that the principal reason for the incident occurring was the manner in which STAR SATYR gave ground quickly in this incident.

Horse No 13 SOLID CAR (K058) M F Poon Shortly after the start raced tight between DAZZLING FIT and TARGET AUDIENCE which was taken out by SOUTH STAR.

Horse No 14 TARGET AUDIENCE (K107) A Badel Shortly after the start was crowded.

Trainer P F Yiu was fined the sum of $15,000 for breaching Rule 149 in that he presented GLORIOUS KINGDOM to compete in batch 1 at the barrier trials conducted at Sha Tin Racecourse on Friday, 20 June 2025 when ROMANTIC PARTY, a horse also trained by Mr Yiu, had been entered to compete in this trial.

The presentation of the incorrect horse was detected by the duty Stipendiary Steward and as such both ROMANTIC PARTY and GLORIOUS KINGDOM ultimately competed in their correct batches.

During the course of the hearing, it was established that Mr K H Chan, work rider allocated to Mr Yiu's stable, had the responsibility of ensuring that the correct horses trained by Mr Yiu were presented for the respective barrier trials.

Mr Chan will be advised that the Stewards will forward a report to the Head of Dual Site Stables Operations in respect of this matter.
