Recap by phillip woo

After claiming the lead 350m out following a speed-tracking run, Packing Phoenix kept finding to just defeat Spicy Standard for a debut win. He lived up to his strong trial form. Punted late, Spicy Standard made it close on the wire after a prominent run on the fence. It was another good performance carrying more weight following a win. Patch Of Time ran on well for third after settling behind midfield on the fence following a sluggish start. It was a much better effort wearing blinkers at his second start this term. King Oberon just held onto fourth after clearing to lead near the 900m from the widest draw. He's always a chance over the Sha Tin 1,200m. Run Run Smart ran on steadily to just miss fourth prize money after a rails run from midfield. He was able to build on an OK sixth at the Valley 18 days ago.
