Recap by phillip woo

Perfectday came from last at the top of the straight and widest out to win going away in the concluding stages for a second win from three starts. It was a huge performance carrying top weight on his Valley debut off a 192-day break. Favourite Flow Water Flow ran on strongly with one wider out for second after a patient ride fourth last and three wide from gate four. He's a winner waiting to happen after eye-catching seconds in both starts. Thousand Cups wouldn't go down without a fight after dictating the pace from gate five. He's given a decent sight in both Valley 1,200m runs from his past three starts. Peridot ran on well near the inside for fourth after a rails run from behind midfield. It was another honest performance. Punted late Lucky Man ran on steadily to just miss the frame after a one-off trip from midfield. Whacked late in betting, The Heir took the shortest route home to finish next best after making his run near the rear from gate 11. It was a pleasing performance at his first start over the Valley 1,200m. Denfield was badly checked close to home when making ground from near the rear.
