Race Eight : (271) - NIGHTJAR HANDICAP - Class 3 - 1000Meters
Horse No 1 DRAGON FOUR SEAS (J317) C L Chau Approaching the 300 Metres was bumped by BLUE ILLUSION which shifted out.
Raced very wide and without cover for the majority of the event.
Horse No 2 ETERNAL FORTUNE (K010) H Bowman Raced wide and without cover from the 600 Metres.
Horse No 4 BLUE ILLUSION (K468) R Kingscote Shortly after the start was contacted on the hindquarters by CASA OF HONOR and as a consequence became badly unbalanced.
Shifted out approaching the 300 Metres and was bumped.
R Kingscote stated that after being bumped on the Home Turn he had concern with the horse's action in the Home Straight and therefore did not ride it out to the finish when not in a competitive position.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 5 CASA OF HONOR (K310) M F Poon Shortly after the start was contacted on the hindquarters by LOVE TOGETHER and became badly unbalanced.

Horse No 6 LOVE TOGETHER (L052) C Y Ho Shortly after the start was severely checked when crowded between CASA OF HONOR which was taken in slightly by BLUE ILLUSION and SIX THREE WIN which was taken out by DEVAS TWELVE when that runner shifted out despite the efforts of its rider M Chadwick.

Horse No 8 SIX THREE WIN (K513) K Teetan Shortly after the start was crowded.
In the middle stages raced keenly and for some distance approaching the 600 Metres was steadied to avoid HAYDAY.
Horse No 9 CANDLELIGHT DINNER (J468) M Guyon Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 11 DEVAS TWELVE (H435) M Chadwick Shifted out shortly after the start and made contact with SIX THREE WIN when being corrected by its rider.
Horse No 12 SUPERB KING (K479) H Doyle Approaching the 600 Metres commenced to race keenly when being steadied to allow CANDLELIGHT DINNER to cross.
Horse No PARENTS' LOVE (H405) Z Purton Withdrawn on 15.12.25 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (lame left hind) and replaced by Standby Declared Starter HEALTHY HEALTHY.
Before being allowed to race again, PARENTS' LOVE will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

Candlelight Dinner tracked the speed from gate 10 before hitting the front 200m out leading 200m and keeping on strongly for a second win over the Valley 1,000m from 15 local starts. He's always a chance over the Valley 1,000m. Post-time favourite Healthy Healthy finished a close second after a handy run along the inside. He's as honest as the day is long. Metro Power gave a cheeky sight on the speed for third from gate eight. It was a return to form with a switch to the Valley. Superb King ran on steadily for fourth after a prominent run from gate nine. He proved a fourth last start when trying the Valley 1,000m was not a fluke. Eternal Fortune peaked on his run 50m out after sitting wide near the front from gate 11. He had an excuse. Early favourite Love Together made good ground late for sixth after a tardy start. It was another pleasing effort after a closing second last start when trying the Valley 1,000m. Casa Of Honor ran on without threatening after making his run one from the rear. Devas Twelve just held his ground after a rails run from midfield. Wait for him over the 1,400m in Class Four.
