Favourite Circuit Fiery tracked the speed from gate nine before shooting to the lead near the 300m and proving too good for a first win at his 17th start. Double Show stayed on well for second after a box-seat run. It was another good run. Decrelot kept on one paced for fourth after a one-out, one-back run. It was a better effort after disappointing twice following a win. Something Jonah kept on well for fifth after a handy run wide and without cover from gate 14. He has shown improvement in his past three runs following a downgrade. Verbier didn't have much to offer over the last 100m after dictating the run from gate four. Island Golden made a mild bid after a rails run from midfield. Wellbacked Euro Rocks only plodded after a midfield run.

Racing Incident Report

Race One : (273) - AMARYLLIS HANDICAP - Class 5 - 1400Meters

Horse No 1 CIRCUIT FIERY (H475) Z Purton Sent for sampling post-race.

Horse No 2 GALE SAGA (J152) M Guyon Shortly after the start raced tight between DECRELOT and VERBIER, both of which shifted ground.

Near the 350 Metres made contact with HE WAS ME when endeavouring to obtain clear running.

Over the final 200 Metres did not obtain clear running when held up behind DECRELOT and SOMETHING JONAH.

Horse No 3 SMART ENGINEER (K244) R Kingscote Bumped at the start.

Passing the 350 Metres was steadied and shifted to the outside of EURO ROCKS to continue into clear running.

SMART ENGINEER then had some difficulty obtaining clear running for a short distance thereafter when racing tight between EURO ROCKS and GALE SAGA.

A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Horse No 4 SOMETHING JONAH (K024) J Orman Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event.

J Orman stated that from the outside barrier he was instructed to take up a forward position.

Trainer D J Hall confirmed the instructions and stated that he issued those instructions on the basis that with sheepskin cheek pieces being applied today he was of the opinion the horse would show more pace and it would be difficult to make up ground in the Home Straight from back in the field.

Horse No 5 DECRELOT (J551) L Hewitson Bumped shortly after the start.

Horse No 6 DOUBLE SHOW (G250) K Teetan Sent for sampling post-race.

Horse No 7 KA YING POWER (H169) M L Yeung Shifted in approaching the 1200 Metres and was bumped.

Raced keenly in the early stages.

M L Yeung stated that after enjoying a reasonably good run with cover KA YING POWER did not finish the race off in the Home Straight.

A veterinary inspection immediately following the race which included an endoscopic examination showed a substantial amount of blood in the horse's trachea.

Before being allowed to race again, KA YING POWER will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

Horse No 8 VERBIER (J187) L Ferraris Bumped shortly after the start.

Horse No 9 LITTLE FAIRY (H206) M F Poon Jumped only fairly.

Horse No 10 HE WAS ME (J535) A Atzeni Jumped only fairly.

Despite being ridden along in the early stages did not show sufficient pace to hold a more forward position.

Approaching the 1200 Metres was bumped on the hindquarters by KA YING POWER which shifted in.

Near the 350 Metres was bumped on the hindquarters and became unbalanced.

Horse No 12 ALL EYES ON ME (J453) K C Leung Jumped awkwardly and made contact with SMART ENGINEER.

From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.

Horse No 14 EURO ROCKS (H153) H Bentley In the early and middle stages raced keenly and for some distance near the 1100 Metres was steadied to avoid DECRELOT.
