Happy Boss travelled one off in midfield before claiming the lead 80m out and just holding off Star Satyr for a maiden win following a smart run on debut last month. Star Satyr found gaps near the inside to make it close on the wire after making his run at the rear from gate five. He appreciated a return to the level of a win in June. Aerovolanic ran on well with one wider out for third after a wide trip with cover travelling just worse than midfield. It was another honest performance. All's Well came on late down the outside for fourth following a patient ride fifth last from gate 13. He's racing well without winning. Top Peak was a tiring fifth after dictating the run from gate seven. He couldn't back up a near win last start when ridden conservatively which likely suits him better. Dr Golden General made some ground late through the centre after making his run one from the rear at his initial start over 1,400m. It was best effort from six starts.

Racing Incident Report

Race Six : (298) - TAI TAN HANDICAP - Class 4 - 1400Meters

Horse No 1 YEE CHEONG GLORY (K074) Z Purton Near the 200 Metres, when giving ground, was bumped on the hindquarters.

Z Purton stated that he was issued with no specific instruction but after commencing well he was able to hold a position outside the lead.

He added that in the Home Straight YEE CHEONG GLORY did not respond to his riding and, in his opinion, did not run out the 1400 Metres of today's event.

Trainer J Richards advised that the horse had pleased him leading into the race and could offer no excuse for its disappointing performance.

A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

The performance of YEE CHEONG GLORY was considered disappointing.

Before being allowed to race again, YEE CHEONG GLORY will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

Horse No 2 STAR SATYR (K231) Y L Chung Jumped only fairly.

Held up for clear running between the 300 Metres and the 200 Metres.

Near the 200 Metres when improving into a narrow run between SOMELOVEFROMABOVE and YEE CHEONG GLORY shifted in and made contact with YEE CHEONG GLORY.

Sent for sampling post-race.

Horse No 3 SURE JOYFUL (G125) E C W Wong Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event.

Horse No 5 ALL'S WELL (K294) H Bowman Jumped awkwardly and made contact with the left side of the starting gate.

Raced very wide and without cover for the majority of the event.

Horse No 6 HAPPY BOSS (K453) L Ferraris Sent for sampling post-race.

Horse No 7 ROBOT STAR (K559) C L Chau Jumped only fairly.

Over the final 400 Metres was badly held up for clear running and could not be ridden out to the finish.

Sent for sampling post-race.

Horse No 8 MANAPHY (K075) K C Leung Jumped awkwardly.

Horse No 10 CIRCUIT CENTURY (K308) R Kingscote Lay in over the final 150 Metres.

Approaching the 150 Metres had difficulty obtaining clear running when being shifted to the outside of TOP PEAK.

R Kingscote reported that he was instructed to take up a forward position but in the early stages he had to make use of his mount to comply with his instructions to cross runners to his inside.

Horse No 12 ENJOY GOLF (J222) H Bentley Jumped awkwardly.

H Bentley reported that for some distance in the Home Straight his mount had difficulty obtaining clear running when racing tight to the inside of YEE CHEONG GLORY.

A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Horse No 14 DR GOLDEN GENERAL (K412) M L Yeung For some distance near the 150 Metres had difficulty obtaining clear running when being shifted to the outside of SOMELOVEFROMABOVE.
