Racing Incident Report
Race Eleven : (454) - KUT CHEONG HANDICAP - Class 3 - 1400Meters
Horse No 1 GRACIOUS EXPRESS (J188) M F Poon Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event.
Horse No 2 SUPER EXPRESS (K245) M Guyon Jumped awkwardly.
When questioned regarding his riding in the Home Straight and the reason his mount shifted to the rail to make its run M Guyon stated that after following DO YOUR PART into the Home Straight DO YOUR PART then shifted out which resulted in him improving to the inside of that runner.
He added as SUPER EXPRESS was laying in at that point he elected to allow it to shift in towards the rail to improve to the inside of RIDING TOGETHER so that the horse would not resist his efforts to maintain its position away from the rail.
He said after obtaining a position on the rail near the 300 Metres SUPER EXPRESS raced truly to the winning post and he was able to fully test his mount over the final 300 Metres.
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 3 SUPER JOY N FUN (J164) C L Chau Approaching the 500 Metres SUPER JOY N FUN (C L Chau) improved into a doubtful run to the inside of LIGHTNESS OF BEING when that runner shifted out slightly.
A short distance later AURIO (Z Purton) shifted to the outside of SUPER EXPRESS to improve which contributed to SUPER JOY N FUN blundering when it struck the heels of LIGHTNESS OF BEING.
C L Chau was reprimanded for allowing his mount to improve into a position where there was not sufficient room to do so.
Z Purton was reprimanded for permitting his mount to shift out, contributing to SUPER JOY N FUN striking heels.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 4 AURIO (K056) Z Purton Raced keenly in the early stages.
Horse No 6 RIDING TOGETHER (K081) D B McMonagle Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 7 SUNNY DA BEST (J118) C Y Ho C Y Ho reported that his mount commenced to give ground when under pressure in the Home Straight and it gave him concern in the manner in which it weakened over the concluding stages.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Before being allowed to race again, SUNNY DA BEST will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

Horse No 10 FLASH CURRENT (J500) A Badel Jumped only fairly.
Horse No 11 RISING PHOENIX (J498) A Atzeni From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
Horse No 12 LIGHTNESS OF BEING (K159) Y L Chung On jumping shifted in, made contact with the right side of its starting gate and as a result became unbalanced.
Leaving the 400 Metres was hampered when taken wider by POSITIVE SMILE which shifted out to improve.
Y L Chung stated that the intention from a wide barrier was to ride the horse in a conservative manner in the early stages.
He said when LIGHTNESS OF BEING jumped well and the early stages of the event were run outside of standard time this resulted in his mount holding an on-pace position three wide with cover.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Whip Rule Offences - 14 February 2026 Sha Tin Racemeeting The following jockey was found to be in breach of Rule 100(3)(ii)(a) for using the whip on consecutive occasions:- Race 6 (439) M F Poon (LESLIE) - 2 consecutive strides approaching the 150 Metres - Severe Reprimand Race 5 (438) L Hewitson (TURIN MASCOT) was warned for using his whip forward of the saddle in a forehand manner on one occasion near the 350 Metres Race 9 (442) L Ferraris (FAST RESPONDER) was severely reprimanded in relation to using his whip in a manner where the hand holding the whip was above shoulder height on one occasion after the 200 Metres

Rolling Arrangement The track was rolled after Race 5

Riding Together led from gate 13 and kept finding for a third win and second this term from 16 starts. He enjoyed a track that mostly suited to those on the speed. Favourite Super Express ran on steadily for second after a one-off trip from better than midfield. He had his chance. Do Your Part had to settle for third after chasing the speed one off from gate seven. He doesn't know how to produce a bad run. Punted late Aurio ran on late through the centre for fourth after one-off trip from midfield. It was another honest performance despite a step up to 1,400m. Flash Current made ground late near the inside for fifth after a rails run from midfield. Positive Smile made good ground late with two wider out after making his run two from the rear. He didn't get conditions to suit. Hymnbrook came up one paced after a rails run from better than midfield. Gracious Express faded after facing the breeze three wide near the front from gate nine.
