Race Six : (460) - PEACH BLOSSOM HANDICAP - Class 4 - 1400Meters
Horse No 1 ALL ROUND WINNER (K382) H Bentley Raced keenly in the early stages.
Near the 900 Metres was steadied to avoid PROUD BOX.
Near the 400 Metres was hampered when taken wider.
Horse No 4 AEROVOLANIC (K400) Z Purton Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 5 DAILY TROPHY (H283) E C W Wong Bumped on jumping.
Horse No 6 GRAND TURBO (L138) R Kingscote Jumped awkwardly and lost ground.
Horse No 7 LUCKY BALERION (L125) A Atzeni Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event.
A Atzeni reported that his mount raced greenly, was still immature and would derive benefit from today's experience.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race which included an endoscopic examination showed a substantial amount of blood in the horse's trachea.
Before being allowed to race again, LUCKY BALERION will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
Horse No 9 A LA CHAMP (K179) J Orman Jumped awkwardly.
From the outside barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
The performance of A LA CHAMP, which finished tailed out, was considered unacceptable.
Before being allowed to race again, A LA CHAMP will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 10 RED BRICK WARRIOR (K580) L Ferraris Jumped only fairly and then was crowded by PROUD BOX which jumped awkwardly and shifted out.
Horse No 11 SMART FAT CAT (K280) C Y Ho Jumped awkwardly and lost ground.
Raced keenly in the middle stages.
For some distance near the 600 Metres got its head up when being steadied away from STAR SATYR.
Between the 450 Metres and the 350 Metres was held up for clear running when being shifted to the outside of ALL ROUND WINNER.
Horse No 12 LUCKY FIELD (K292) C L Chau For some distance near the 300 Metres was held up for clear running when being shifted to the outside of DAILY TROPHY.
Horse No 13 PROUD BOX (K487) K Teetan Jumped awkwardly, shifted out and as a result made contact with RED BRICK WARRIOR.
Approaching the 400 Metres was hampered when taken wider by MERLION which shifted out to improve.
Horse No 14 SHOTGUN (K111) M F Poon On jumping was bumped on the hindquarters by RED BRICK WARRIOR, resulting in SHOTGUN becoming unbalanced.
Sent for sampling post-race.

Aerovolanic tracked the speed from gate 11 and easily got the better of long-time leader Shotgun 200m out for a second win from 11 starts. He deserved that after filling the frame in three of his past four starts. Well-backed Shotgun had to settle for second after leading from gate nine. He's held his form well to place back-to-back in this grade after a Class Five win. All Round Winner stayed on third best after a one-off trip from midfield. It was a good run carrying top weight following a win. Proud Box whacked on one paced to just hold onto fourth by a whisker after a prominent run from gate seven. It was an improved effort on his past few starts. Punted late Smart Fat Cat was doing his best work late through the centre to just miss fourth prize money after making his run four back on the fence. He keeps promising without delivering.
