Big Return travelled midfield one off the fence before hitting the front near the 100m and keeping on gamely to beat the fast-finishing favourite Jolly Brilliant for back-to-back wins following a step up to 1,600m. Jolly Brilliant rushed home late to make it close on the wire with a step up to 1,600m after making his run five back and one off the fence. He's a winner waiting to happen. Turin Champions had to settle for third after leading 200m out following a prominent run one off the fence. It was a better effort on his past two starts. Family Knight closed well for fourth after a rails run from behind midfield. He's improved on each of his three starts following a downgrade. Amazing Award gradually faded after a speed-tracking run outside Amazing Fun. It was an honest effort.

Race Two : (635) - FWD INSURANCE GOAHEAD GROUP HANDICAP - Class 4 - 1600Meters

Horse No 2 SHAMZ (L097) K Teetan K Teetan stated that his mount was unable to finish the race off due to it racing very wide and without cover for the majority of the event.

A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Horse No 3 FAMILY KNIGHT (K490) M L Yeung M L Yeung pleaded guilty to a careless riding charge for causing interference near the 250 Metres (see TYCOON EXPRESS).

Horse No 4 AESTHETICISM (H289) L Hewitson Near the 250 Metres was steadied when badly crowded for room between TYCOON EXPRESS and FAMILY KNIGHT which shifted out.

Horse No 5 MASSIVE GLORY (K205) K C Leung Near the 250 Metres became unbalanced when it made contact with TYCOON EXPRESS.

Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event.

Horse No 10 TYCOON EXPRESS (K376) J Moreira Jumped awkwardly and then blundered shortly after the start.

M L Yeung (FAMILY KNIGHT) pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding [Rule 100(1)] in that near the 250 Metres he allowed his mount to shift out when not clear of AESTHETICISM, resulting in AESTHETICISM being badly crowded and taken out onto TYCOON EXPRESS and also contributing to TYCOON EXPRESS becoming badly crowded to the inside of MASSIVE GLORY.

M L Yeung was suspended from riding in races for one Hong Kong raceday to be conducted on Wednesday, 13 May 2026 at Happy Valley.

In assessing penalty, the Stewards determined the carelessness grade 2 and the consequences grade 2 and also considered his excellent race riding record.

J Moreira reported that after receiving interference near the 250 Metres he had some concern with his mount's action thereafter.
