Racing Incident Report
Race Eight : (652) - BUSAN HANDICAP - Class 3 - 1200Meters
Horse No 1 MID WINTER WIND (K208) L Ferraris Shortly after the start shifted out and made contact with COPARTNER FLEET when being shifted behind runners from a wide barrier.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race which included an endoscopic examination showed a substantial amount of blood in the horse's trachea.
Before being allowed to race again, MID WINTER WIND will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
Horse No 2 HAPPY INDEX (L152) H Bowman H Bowman stated that the instructions were to go forward but he was obliged to make too much use of his horse in the early stages to take up a position outside the lead.
He said as a result HAPPY INDEX could not finish the race off in the Home Straight.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 3 SPORTS LEGEND (H456) Y L Chung Shifted in shortly after the start and was bumped.
Shifted out leaving the 400 Metres and was bumped.
Near the 200 Metres shifted out and made contact with EMBRACE ABERDEEN.
Horse No 4 GIANT BALLON (K451) Z Purton Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 5 CAUSEWAY KING (L196) H Bentley H Bentley confirmed the instructions were to go forward as it did in a barrier trial on 17 April 2026.
Horse No 6 FLYING WROTE (J290) C L Chau Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event.
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 7 TACTICAL ACE (L249) M Chadwick Jumped only fairly and then made contact with SPIRIT OF PEACE which shifted out.
Horse No 8 EMBRACE ABERDEEN (L020) K C Leung Had its right hind plate refitted in the holding stables, was examined by the Veterinary Officer and passed suitable to race.
Leaving the 400 Metres was bumped by SPORTS LEGEND which shifted out.
Bumped near the 200 Metres.
Horse No 9 COPARTNER FLEET (K342) M L Yeung Kicked a rail whilst parading, was examined by the Veterinary Officer and passed suitable to race.
Jumped only fairly and then was bumped shortly after the start by MID WINTER WIND.
Approaching the 500 Metres was steadied to avoid MEOWTH when that runner gave ground when being steadied away from EMBRACE ABERDEEN.
Horse No 10 HEY BROS (L150) P N Wong Shortly after the start became unbalanced when bumped by SPORTS LEGEND.
Near the 600 Metres made contact with the running rail.
Horse No 11 SPIRIT OF PEACE (K007) K Teetan Shifted out on jumping and was bumped.
Horse No 12 MEOWTH (J487) A Badel Approaching the 500 Metres was steadied to avoid EMBRACE ABERDEEN.

Favourite Giant Ballon dictated the pace from six, turned the final bend three lengths on top and kept finding to hold off the fast-finishing Flying Wrote for a third consecutive win. It was a solid performance. Heavily backed Flying Wrote ran on strongly with one wider out to finish a head second following a wide trip without cover from behind midfield. He's enjoying a terrific campaign. Spirit Of Peace wove a run late through the centre for third after biding his time second last from gate nine. It was another honest effort. Punted late Meowth ran on well for fourth without threatening the top three travelling one off from behind midfield after a flying start. He's trending towards another win. Copartner Fleet rushed home late to nearly grab fourth after a patient ride third last from gate eight. It was his best effort from four Valley 1,200m runs. Embrace Aberdeen just plodded after a one-off trip from better than midfield. He's found things tougher following a rise in class at his past two starts. Happy Index tamely faded after rushing forward to share the lead 900m out from gate 12. The switch to the Valley backfired.
