Racing Incident Report
Race Eleven : (837) - THE LEE TROPHY (HANDICAP) - Class 3 - 1400Meters
Horse No 1 CHILL EASY (L148) C L Chau Shifted in at the start and made contact with WITHOUT RHYME.
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 2 STAY COSMIC (L372) B Avdulla Near the 1100 Metres was steadied to avoid ENDEARED (H Bowman) which shifted in before being corrected by H Bowman.
H Bowman was advised to exercise more care.
Near the 800 Metres shifted in and made contact with SONIC LINER.
Horse No 3 GREATER BAE (L033) A Atzeni Bumped shortly after the start.
Held up on the Home Turn.
Horse No 4 SAVVY BRILLIANT (J437) Z Purton Leaving the 1200 Metres commenced to race keenly and got its head up when being steadied to avoid STAY COSMIC.
SAVVY BRILLIANT continued to race keenly for some distance thereafter.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 5 ENDEARED (H161) H Bowman Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 6 SONIC LINER (L410) J Orman Bumped on jumping.
Near the 800 Metres made contact with STAY COSMIC.
Bumped approaching the 400 Metres.
Horse No 7 KING MILES (J158) E Brown Jumped awkwardly, shifted out and made contact with SUGAR GOODSON.
Raced very wide and without cover for the majority of the event.
E Brown stated that, in his opinion, the horse had reached the end of its preparation.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 8 ALL'S WELL (K294) A Badel Bumped shortly after the start.
Approaching the 400 Metres was held up for clear running when being shifted to the outside of GREATER BAE and made contact with SONIC LINER.
Approaching the 200 Metres was eased and shifted to the outside of GREATER BAE to continue into clear running.
A Badel stated that with the middle stages of the event being run outside of standard time his mount raced keenly and as a result was obliged to steady to avoid GREATER BAE leaving the 600 Metres.
Horse No 9 TRUE BROTHERS (L381) K Teetan K Teetan confirmed that he was asked to ride his mount in a forward position, similar to the manner it barrier trialed on 23 June 2026.
Horse No 10 SUGAR GOODSON (L303) L Hewitson On jumping became unbalanced when bumped by KING MILES which shifted out.
Held up on the Home Turn.
Horse No 11 TANG HEART (L373) J Moreira Bumped on jumping.
For some distance after the 600 Metres raced tight between ENDEARED and GREATER BAE which shifted out slightly.
Horse No 12 HIGH PRAISE (L316) C Y Ho C Y Ho confirmed that he was instructed to take up a forward position with his mount stepping up in distance from its wide barrier.
Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event.
Horse No 13 REFUSETOBEENGLISH (K362) K C Leung Jumped only fairly and shortly after the start was steadied when crowded by HIGH PRAISE which shifted in and away from CHILL EASY which shifted in.
Leaving the 100 Metres was eased and shifted to the outside of ENDEARED to continue into clear running.
Horse No 14 WITHOUT RHYME (L077) Y L Chung Jumped only fairly and then was steadied when crowded by CHILL EASY which shifted in despite the efforts of its rider.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
GENERAL:

After the running of Race 2, the track classification for the turf course was officially changed from "Good" to "Good to Yielding" This change in the opinion of the Stewards should be recorded as being retrospective.
As a consequence of this, the official results will show Races 1 and 2 being run on a track rated "Good to Yielding" After the running of Race 3, the track classification for the All Weather surface was officially changed from "Wet Slow" to "Wet Fast" This change in the opinion of the Stewards should be recorded as being retrospective.
As a consequence of this, the official results will show Race 3 being run on a track rated "Wet Fast"

Whip Rule Offences - 1 July 2026 Sha Tin Racemeeting The following jockey was found to be in breach of Rule 100(3)(ii)(a) for using the whip on consecutive occasions:- Race 3 (818) B Avdulla (TRENDY RUSH) - 2 consecutive strides near the 150 Metres - A fine of $2,000

Firming favourite Chill Easy had a one-off trip with cover and after moving to the lead 530m out, he was was much too good. It was another fine performance after copping a 10-point penalty for a last start win. Endeared stayed on well for second after a handy run wide with cover from gate seven. He continues to perform well with placings in four of five starts after a win. Tang Heart stayed on for third after a one-off trip travelling better than midfield. He's trending towards a win on his three local runs. Refusetobeenglish wove a run near the inside from last to stake his claims to fourth prize money. He's racing well without winning across both tracks. Punted late Greater Bae just held his ground after an inside trip. He just hasn't been able to take his game to a higher level since a win.
