Horse No 5 ORIENTAL SMOKE (E467) B Shinn Shifted in at the start and was bumped.
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 6 AMAZING DUCK (H392) L Hewitson Bumped at the start.
Horse No 7 ONLY U (J037) D McDonogh Jumped awkwardly and lost ground.
After the event, D McDonogh stated that his mount made a respiratory noise when under pressure in the Home Straight.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 8 SUNDAY'S SERENADE (J231) K Teetan After the event, K Teetan stated that his mount was obliged to race wide and without cover and this was the reason for the horse's disappointing performance.

After the event, H Bentley stated that his mount was disappointing in its failure to run on in the Home Straight.

Mister Dapper settled midfield on the rails and reeled in Oriental Smoke 100m out for a second win over 1,600m from 18 starts. He was able to build on a ground-covering fourth last month following a stable change and can win again. Oriental Smoke kept on gamely for second after moving to the lead near the 300m following a speed-tracking role from gate 12. He's a winner waiting to happen. Gold Master ran on nicely near the outside for third after a wide with cover trip from behind midfield. He was able to back up a win last start despite a seven-pound rise in weight. Mighty Strength ran on well for fourth after a one-off trip from midfield. He's close to a win. Matsu Victor kept on all right after a prominent run along the inside. It was another honest effort carrying a big weight. Kasa Papa made inroads late ridden second last from gate 14. It was his best effort from four goes over 1,600m. Specked late Fight Time came from last to finish next best. He will be a force to be reckoned with in Class Five.
