Racing Incident Report
Race Seven : (453) - THE CITI HONG KONG GOLD CUP - Class G1 - 2000Meters
Horse No 1 VOYAGE BUBBLE (E436) J McDonald Jumped awkwardly and made contact with the left side of its barrier.
Made contact with GALAXY PATCH for some distance after the 1100 Metres when being shifted to the outside of WINNING DRAGON.
Near the 850 Metres LA CITY BLANCHE improved to the inside of VOYAGE BUBBLE.
A short distance later VOYAGE BUBBLE then lay out and away from LA CITY BLANCHE which resulted in VOYAGE BUBBLE then striking the heels of ENSUED (K Teetan) when that runner shifted in.
Whilst considering the evidence of J McDonald who stated that his mount lay out in this incident, the Stewards advised K Teetan to exercise more care and to ensure that he leaves comfortable racing room for runners to his inside.
Near the 300 Metres was eased and shifted to the outside of WINNING DRAGON to obtain clear running.

Horse No 2 GALAXY PATCH (H399) B Shinn Shortly after the start raced tight to the inside of ENSUED.
Entering the Back Straight VOYAGE BUBBLE (J McDonald) shifted out to the outside of WINNING DRAGON which resulted in VOYAGE BUBBLE and GALAXY PATCH making contact between the 1100 Metres and the 900 Metres.
J McDonald was advised to exercise more care.
When questioned, B Shinn stated that after commencing well GALAXY PATCH was able to obtain a more forward position without being pressured to do so.
He said after racing tight to the inside of ENSUED near the 1500 Metres, GALAXY PATCH was disadvantaged in the middle stages when racing tight to the outside of VOYAGE BUBBLE when that runner shifted out and as a result his mount raced keenly throughout the middle stages before being left without a finishing effort in the Home Straight.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 4 ENSUED (H452) K Teetan Between the 400 Metres and the 300 Metres had difficulty obtaining clear running when being shifted to the outside of SWORD POINT.
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 5 HAPPY TOGETHER (G446) A Badel Raced wide and without cover from the 800 Metres.
Horse No 6 STRAIGHT ARRON (G435) L Ferraris Jumped awkwardly and then was bumped by FIVE G PATCH which shifted in.
Horse No 7 FIVE G PATCH (G286) B Avdulla Shifted in at the start and was bumped.
Near the 800 Metres was checked to avoid VOYAGE BUBBLE.
Horse No 9 SWORD POINT (G448) A Atzeni Jumped awkwardly.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Voyage Bubble had nothing go right when getting shuffled back to near last upon straightening and having to shift course 280m out, but he hit the front 150m out and proved too good to score a fourth consecutive win. Ensued surged late for second after getting held up and hampered 300m out following a one-out, one-back run. It was another genuine performance over 2,000m. Punted late Chancheng Glory grudgingly gave way after clearing to lead 1,350m out from gate seven. It was another good run following a last-start win over 1,800m. Winning Dragon kept on well to just miss third settling in the box seat from gate three. It was a solid run despite being 23 points out of the handicap. Happy Together just missed the frame after taking off 700m out from towards the rear. He's just not good enough at level weights. La City Blanche made headway late near the inside after a rails run from behind midfield. Straight Arron ran on without threatening ridden for luck at the rear from a wide draw.
