Recap by phillip woo

Crossborderpegasus kept up a strong gallop after cruising to the lead 120m out following a box-seat run to win in a good time and remain perfect in two starts. He's got a bright future. After getting pushed three wide at the 600m following a prominent run, Lucky Symphony found one too smart after leading near the 300m. He's a winner waiting to happen with seconds in back-to-back runs. Super Love got going late for third without troubling the first two after a patient ride fourth last. He was able to back up a win last start carrying five pounds more. Shiny Rapidash gradually faded after rolling straight to the front 1,000m out from gate six. It was a better run following a gear change and step up to 1,200m. Happy Park ran on steadily for fifth after making his run along the inside in midfield. It was a better effort on his past few runs. Dazzling Fit came on well to just miss fifth despite having to start and stop at times in the straight following a patient ride at the rear from gate 10. It was an encouraging debut performance.

Racing Incident Report

Race Four : (508) - AZALEA HANDICAP - Class 4 - 1200Meters

Horse No 2 CROSSBORDERPEGASUS (K008) H Bowman When placed under pressure over the final 250 Metres lay in, resulting in its rider H Bowman having to correct his mount on a number of occasions.

Sent for sampling post-race.

Horse No 3 SUPER LOVE (K118) K Teetan Knuckled over badly on jumping and lost ground.

In the middle stages raced keenly.

Horse No 4 HAPPY PARK (J311) J Orman Between the 350 Metres and the 250 Metres had difficulty obtaining clear running when positioned behind SHINY RAPIDASH.

After the event, J Orman confirmed the instructions were to endeavour to lead the event.

He said when HAPPY PARK commenced awkwardly it settled further back in the field than what had been intended.

Horse No 5 DASH (K250) L Hewitson Bumped at the start.

Horse No 6 DAZZLING FIT (K298) L Ferraris Jumped only fairly, then shifted in and made contact with DASH.

From a wide barrier was then shifted across behind runners in the early stages.

After the event, L Ferraris stated that his mount, which was having its first race start, raced greenly throughout the event.

He said in the Home Straight DAZZLING FIT lay in and was reluctant to improve between DASH and SUPER LOVE near the 250 Metres.

He added he then became held up behind SUPER LOVE between the 200 Metres and the 100 Metres before being able to obtain clear running to the outside of SUPER LOVE where it finished the race off well.

Horse No 7 SUPER SICARIO (K306) A Badel Slow to begin.

In the early stages raced keenly and near the 900 Metres was steadied to avoid SUPER LOVE.

Horse No 8 AMAZING GALAXY (J238) R Kingscote In the early stages raced keenly when being steadied to obtain cover behind TAIHANG SCENERY.

Horse No 9 LUCKY SYMPHONY (J089) A Atzeni Near the 700 Metres was taken wider by CROSSBORDERPEGASUS when that runner shifted to the outside of CIRCUIT DUFFY.

As a result, LUCKY SYMPHONY raced very wide and without cover for some distance thereafter.

Sent for sampling post-race.

Horse No 11 SHINY RAPIDASH (J492) C L Chau On jumping knuckled over and became unbalanced.

After the event, C L Chau reported that his instructions were to settle where comfortable.

He said after commencing well and when caught wide in the early stages he elected to allow his mount to stride forward and lead to avoid covering additional ground.

Trainer P C Ng confirmed the instructions issued and stated that SHINY RAPIDASH had been slow out of the starting gates at its previous race starts and was able to take up a more forward position today when it jumped well.

Horse No 12 TAIHANG SCENERY (J314) H Bentley Jumped awkwardly.

Leaving the 1000 Metres, when racing keenly, got its head up when being steadied to avoid DASH (L Hewitson) which shifted in.

L Hewitson was advised to exercise more care.

Raced wide and without cover from the 900 Metres.

Leaving the 100 Metres was eased when placed in restricted room between DASH and AMAZING GALAXY, both of which shifted ground slightly.
