Racing Incident Report
Race Nine : (628) - FWD INSURANCE NCB HANDICAP - Class 3 - 1600Meters
Horse No 1 TOURBILLON PRINCE (H122) Z Purton After the event Z Purton stated that his mount was obliged to race wide and without cover for the majority of the event before giving ground in the Home Straight.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race found that horse to be a "roarer" which had previously been reported.
Horse No 3 HUGE WAVE (J197) H Bowman Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 4 SUPERB KID (H298) A Atzeni On jumping shifted out and made contact with GOOD LUCK BABE.
Near the 300 Metres SUPERB KID, which was racing ungenerously, was steadied when crowded between OUTGATE (A Badel) which shifted in and FAMILY JEWEL (J Moreira) which shifted out.
Both A Badel and J Moreira were reprimanded.
Horse No 6 STAR MAC (J053) B Avdulla Between the 400 Metres and the 250 Metres was held up for clear running.
Horse No 8 TURIN STARSPANGLED (J209) K C Leung Bumped approaching the 200 Metres.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race which included an endoscopic examination showed a substantial amount of blood in the horse's trachea.
Before being allowed to race again, TURIN STARSPANGLED will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
Horse No 9 CHING (G380) L Hewitson From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
Horse No 10 FAMILY JEWEL (J390) J Moreira Shortly after the start raced tight between TURIN STARSPANGLED and TOURBILLON PRINCE.
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 11 MAGNIFICENT NINE (H433) C Williams Approaching the 200 Metres shifted in and away from FAMILY JEWEL and made contact with TURIN STARSPANGLED.
Horse No 12 FAST SPEED (K351) H T Mo Bumped shortly after the start.
In the early and middle stages raced keenly and for some distance approaching the 1100 Metres was steadied away from HUGE WAVE.
Horse No 13 MORGAN SUCCESS (K203) H Bentley On jumping bumped with FAST SPEED.
Near the 300 Metres was steadied when disappointed for clear running between HUGE WAVE which shifted in slightly and TOURBILLON PRINCE which shifted out when giving ground.
As a result MORGAN SUCCESS was held up for clear running between the 300 Metres and the 200 Metres.
Horse No 14 GOOD LUCK BABE (K016) K Teetan Made contact with a rail leaving the Parade Ring, was examined by the Veterinary Officer and passed suitable to race.
Bumped on jumping.
After the event K Teetan reported that his mount raced keenly in the lead before giving ground in the Home Straight.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Favourite Family Jewel capitalised on a rails run from behind midfield to hit the lead 200m and surge clear for a third win from seven starts this term. He's a progressive type and has the tools to win again. Huge Wave ran on nicely for second after a wide with cover trip from behind midfield. It was a much better effort on his past three runs following a win in January. Magnificent Nine had his chance after a prominent run on the fence but found a couple too good. It was another honest performance. Star Mac ran on late for fourth after a rails run from midfield. Winning Gold made ground late down the outside after making his run wide towards the rear from gate 14. Morgan Success couldn't build much momentum after having to stop and start at times in the straight run following a one-off trip from behind midfield. Ching ran on without threatening from near the rear. He's still trying to find a rating bottom. Good Luck Babe was stopping 200m out after dictating the run from gate four. He wasn't good enough.
