Racing Incident Report
Race Eight : (637) - JEJU HANDICAP - Class 3 - 1650Meters
Horse No 1 SKY HEART (J092) H Bowman Jumped awkwardly and made contact with the left side of its barrier.
After the event H Bowman stated that he was able to lead the event comfortably but his mount did not respond to his riding when placed under pressure in the Home Straight.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 2 HAMERON (H265) Z Purton After the event Z Purton stated that when caught wide in the early stages he was required to steady his mount so that he could obtain a position closer to the rail with cover.
He said as a result HAMERON settled further back in the field than what had been intended.
Horse No 3 STAR CONTACT (E472) B Avdulla After the event B Avdulla stated that from the outside barrier he was given the option to go forward if his mount commenced well.
Trainer D A Hayes confirmed the instructions issued.
Horse No 4 CAMBRIDGE (K085) K C Leung From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
Horse No 5 DEFINITIVE (K037) K Teetan After the event K Teetan reported that he was obliged to make some use of his mount in the early stages to hold an on-pace position after DEFINITIVE jumped only fairly.
He said in the early stages his mount was pressured by STAR CONTACT when that runner went forward and then when placed under pressure in the Home Straight DEFINITIVE finished the race off only fairly.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Horse No 6 A AMERIC TE SPECSO (H037) A Atzeni Jumped only fairly.

Horse No 7 ALLCASH (K190) E C W Wong Passing the 150 Metres was shifted to the outside of STAR CONTACT to continue into clear running.
Horse No 8 FLYING FORTRESS (J445) H Bentley Raced keenly approaching the 1400 Metres when being steadied to obtain cover behind DEFINITIVE.
Lay in when placed under pressure over the final 100 Metres.

Horse No 9 KOLACHI (J395) M Chadwick Leaving the 600 Metres lay in and away from A AMERIC TE SPECSO and became unbalanced when positioned close to the running rail.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 10 BEAUTY CRESCENT (H334) J Orman After the 1400 Metres raced tight to the inside of FLYING FORTRESS when that runner was taken in slightly by STAR CONTACT.
A short distance later BEAUTY CRESCENT then commenced to race keenly and got its head up when being steadied away from SKY HEART.
Horse No 11 STURDY RUBY (H207) A Badel When questioned A Badel stated that the intention was to hold a more forward position but in the early stages he was obliged to settle towards the rear of the field when caught wide.
He said entering the Back Straight leaving the 800 Metres he elected to commence a forward move on STURDY RUBY as he had anticipated the pace of the event to slow.
He said when the pace remained inside of standard time he was unable to continue forward and after being taken wider by SETANTA approaching the 400 Metres he was able to follow that horse into the Home Straight.
He further stated that under pressure thereafter STURDY RUBY finished the race off well.

A Americ Te Specso just overhauled Flying Fortress after straightening fourth last for back-to-back wins at juicy odds. He's in a rich vein of form and another win going forward won't surprise. Punted late, Flying Fortress found one too good after moving to the lead near the 200m following a one-off trip travelling better than midfield from gate 10. It was another solid run carrying eight pounds more following a win. Setanta ran on well for third after making his run one-off with cover in midfield. It was a return to form after showing little in three straight runs. Sturdy Ruby ran on nicely down the outside for fourth after taking off from near the rear 550m out. He'll be one to keep safe from a better draw. The well-backed Beauty Crescent just held his ground after a prominent run on the fence. It was another honest performance at his initial Valley start. Hameron ran on without threatening after a patient ride second last from gate eight. Favourite Definitive found little when asked for more after sitting third in the run behind the quick pace of Sky Heart and Star Contact.
