Racing Incident Report
Race Four : (691) - GLENEALY HANDICAP - Class 4 - 1650Meters
Horse No 1 SUPREME AGILITY (J267) J Orman Bumped on jumping.
Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event.
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 2 MIGHTY COMMANDER (J360) H Bowman H Bowman, the rider of 5th placegetter, MIGHTY COMMANDER, pleaded guilty to a charge under Rule 100(2) in that he failed to ride his mount out to the end of the race to the satisfaction of the Stewards.
H Bowman was suspended from riding in races for a period to commence on Saturday, 28 June 2025 and to expire on Wednesday, 2 July 2025 on which day he may resume race riding (2 Hong Kong racedays).
In assessing penalty the Stewards were satisfied that his actions had compromised the horse's finishing position.
When questioned H Bowman stated that the intention was to hold a more forward position but his mount was bumped at the start and as a result he elected to obtain a trailing position behind JUMBO FORTUNE.
He added that in the early stages MIGHTY COMMANDER raced keenly and approaching the 1000 Metres got its head up when being steadied away from SIMPLE HEDGE.
After the race an endoscopic examination was conducted on MIGHTY COMMANDER at the request of Trainer C Fownes.
The Veterinary Surgeon said this examination showed a substantial amount of blood in the horse's trachea.
Before being allowed to race again, MIGHTY COMMANDER will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

Horse No 3 SIMPLE HEDGE (H237) A Badel Jumped only fairly.
Between the 250 Metres and the 150 Metres was held up for clear running between DRAGON STAR and ATOMIC BEAUTY.
After the event A Badel stated that whilst his mount was held up in the Home Straight, in his opinion, it would appreciate being stepped up in distance for its next race start.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 4 STORMI (K084) C L Chau From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
Leaving the 150 Metres was shifted to the outside of MIGHTY COMMANDER to continue into clear running.
Horse No 5 DASHING DRAGON (J464) B Thompson From the outside barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
Horse No 7 DRAGON STAR (H128) K Teetan After the event K Teetan stated that his mount enjoyed a good run during the event, however, finished the race off in a one-paced manner in the Home Straight and he could offer no explanation for its performance.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 8 DEAL COMPLETED (J378) H T Mo Jumped awkwardly and made contact with the right side of its barrier.

Horse No 9 ATOMIC BEAUTY (H066) A Atzeni Bumped on jumping.
Horse No 10 JUMBO FORTUNE (G195) A Hamelin Approaching the 200 Metres was checked when disappointed for clear running between COSMO NAVIGATOR and DRAGON STAR, both of which shifted ground slightly.
As a result JUMBO FORTUNE shifted in, made contact with COSMO NAVIGATOR and did not obtain clear running until near the 100 Metres.
Horse No 11 TO INFINITY (G277) L Hewitson On jumping was bumped by MIGHTY COMMANDER which shifted in.

Horse No 12 COSMO NAVIGATOR (H156) Y L Chung After the event Y L Chung stated that with his mount stepping up in distance tonight he was instructed to settle where comfortable.
He said when COSMO NAVIGATOR jumped well and raced keenly he allowed it to stride forward and lead.

To Infinity took the short route home from behind midfield and kept finding to lead 200m out for a sixth win from 40 starts and second from 13 runs this term. Supreme Agility stayed on nicely for second after a wide trip without cover from midfield. It was a return to form following a downgrade. Atomic Beauty was close behind in third after a one-out, one-back run. He's building towards a win. Rank outsider Dashing Dragon dashed late down the outside for fourth after making his run at the rear from gate 12. It was a vastly-improved run with a step up to 1,650m at his first Valley run. Mighty Commander ran on steadily for fifth with one wider out upon straightening after making his run fourth last and three deep despite gate three. He can bob up at any moment in this grade. Plunged late in betting, Red Majesty kept on one-paced after a box-seat run. Age does appear to have gotten the better of him this season with only three seconds from 15 starts this term. Dragon Star faded after tracking the speed from gate 10. He couldn't back up seconds in three straight runs.
