Racing Incident Report
Race Six : (693) - COCHRANE HANDICAP - Class 4 - 1200Meters
Horse No 1 THRIVING BROTHERS (J396) M Chadwick Bumped near the 600 Metres.
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 2 SUPER SIXTY (J071) E C W Wong Near the 300 Metres was steadied to avoid PRIME MORTAR when disappointed for clear running to the inside of PRIME MORTAR when PRIME MORTAR lay in despite the efforts of its rider.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 3 PRIME MORTAR (G328) Y L Chung Lay in in the early part of the Home Straight and near the 300 Metres was corrected by Y L Chung.
After the event Y L Chung stated that from a wide barrier he was instructed to ride his mount in a conservative manner in the early stages.
He said when PRIME MORTAR was obliged to race wide and without cover it raced too keenly and was left without a finishing effort in the Home Straight.
Trainer A S Cruz confirmed the instructions issued.
Horse No 4 CANDLELIGHT DINNER (J468) J Orman Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 5 GAMEPLAYER ELITE (H356) L Hewitson In the middle stages raced keenly and near the 800 Metres shifted out when being steadied away from MY INTELLIGENT.
Horse No 6 LOVING VIBES (J359) Z Purton Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 7 NEBRASKAN (J304) H Bowman Near the 600 Metres bumped with THRIVING BROTHERS.
After the event H Bowman stated that his mount finished the race off in a one-paced manner and would appreciate being stepped up in distance for its next race start.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 8 GALLANT REX (K243) L Ferraris Jumped only fairly.
From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
Horse No 9 GLORIOUS RYDER (K290) K Teetan From the outside barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
Horse No 11 DRACO (J115) K C Leung Jumped awkwardly.
In the middle stages raced keenly and for some distance near the 700 Metres shifted out when being steadied away from NEBRASKAN.
Horse No 12 MY INTELLIGENT (G031) M L Yeung Held up making the Home Turn.
After the event M L Yeung reported that his mount jumped only fairly and as a consequence settled slightly further back than anticipated.
He added in the middle stages when he was of the opinion that the pace steadied MY INTELLIGENT then commenced to race keenly and was steadied away from SUPER SIXTY and did not finish the race off in the Home Straight.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Thriving Brothers sat just off the pace in third without cover and just up in the last bound to deny long-time leader Candlelight Dinner for a maiden win at his 10th local start. He appreciated the return to the course and distance of a third at his initial Valley 1,200m run in December. Candlelight Dinner nearly made all after turning the final bend two lengths on top from gate two. The switch to the Valley 1,200m nearly worked the oracle at his second run down in Class Four. Favourite Loving Vibes battled away for third after sitting on the leader's back from gate six. The rise in weight took its toll following a win. Punted late Draco ran on steadily for fourth after a rails run from midfield. It was another honest performance. Gameplayer Elite got going late for fifth after making his run four from the rear. He can bob up at any moment after finishing in the mix in three straight runs. Legend Star ran on to finish next best after making his run second last from gate 10. It was an improved effort at his third start and first at the Valley. Nebraskan disappointed after getting all favours with a soft run on the fence.
