Recap by phillip woo

Shamus Storm quickened nicely to take control 150m out after a rails run from behind midfield for a first win on the back of placings in three of four other starts. He has the tools to hold his own up in grade off a light weight. Max Que found one just too good after a handy run from gate six. He's a winner waiting to happen with seconds in three straight runs. Only U came on strongly widest out to snatch third after making his run second last from gate seven. He's building towards a win. Oldtown succumbed late for fourth after moving to the lead 200m out after getting left wide without cover from the 600m travelling midfield. It was a huge effort second up after falling in a race back in February. Spirit Of Peace wove a run late near the inside for fifth after making his run at the rear from gate 11. It was another honest effort. Mighty Steed ran on without threatening after making his run five back and three deep with cover from gate 14. It wasn't a bad effort.
