Tourbillon Prince travelled one off in third from gate eight before assuming the lead 350m out and drawing clear for a third win this term. He appreciated a return to a senior rider after producing two fourths and sixth from four prior starts over 1,600m. Gentlemen Legacy ran on nicely with three wider out to just take second after making his run four back and three wide with cover. He appreciated the rise in trip after going OK on his local debut over 1,400m. Prestige Ricky ran on nicely through the middle to just miss out on second after making his run five back and one off the fence. Like the latter, it was an improved effort with a step up to 1,600m at his third local run. Magnificent Nine just failed to place after a one-off trip from better than midfield. It was another honest effort. Flying Luck ran on for fifth after hooking widest coming to the final bend following a patient ride fourth last on the fence. He wasn't suited by the muddling pace.

Racing Incident Report

Race Eleven : (727) - MA LIU SHUI HANDICAP - Class 3 - 1600Meters

Horse No 1 WINNING GOLD (H461) J Orman Shifted out at the start and was bumped.

Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event.

After the event J Orman stated that the preference was for him to obtain a position midfield with cover, however, he was given the option to go forward if circumstances permitted.

He said in the early stages WINNING GOLD did not travel strongly and was not travelling well enough to cross runners to his inside which resulted in WINNING GOLD racing wide and without cover for the majority of the event.

He added in the Home Straight WINNING GOLD responded fairly to his riding, however, he was not too disappointed with the performance having regard to the wide run that the horse endured during the race.

A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Horse No 2 TOURBILLON PRINCE (H122) L Ferraris Sent for sampling post-race.

Horse No 3 NEVER PETER OUT (J200) M L Yeung On jumping was bumped by WINNING GOLD which shifted out.

After the event M L Yeung stated that the intention was to hold a handy position with cover.

He said when caught wide in the early stages he allowed NEVER PETER OUT to stride forward and lead to avoid covering additional ground.

Horse No 4 GENTLEMEN LEGACY (K385) A Badel Sent for sampling post-race.

Horse No 5 ARIEL (G223) L Hewitson Had difficulty obtaining clear running approaching the 300 Metres.

Horse No 6 YOUNG BRILLIANT (H135) E C W Wong Shifted out at the start and was bumped.

Briefly held up approaching the 300 Metres.

Horse No 7 MAGNIFICENT NINE (H433) A Atzeni Bumped at the start.

Horse No 8 FIGHTING MACHINE (J015) K C Leung In the middle stages raced keenly and when the pace steadied near the 800 Metres was steadied to avoid YOUNG BRILLIANT.

Between the 450 Metres and the 300 Metres was held up for clear running.

Horse No 9 FLYING LUCK (J339) B Avdulla Jumped only fairly.

When the pace steadied in the middle stages commenced to race keenly and was steadied to avoid FIGHTING MACHINE which gave ground at the same point.

From the 600 Metres commenced a forward move around the field and near the 500 Metres made contact with CHARITY TOGETHER when that runner shifted out to improve.

Sent for sampling post-race.

Horse No 10 LEGENDARY YEARS (K286) Y L Chung Jumped only fairly and then was steadied when crowded between GENTLEMEN LEGACY and MAGNIFICENT NINE which shifted out after being bumped by YOUNG BRILLIANT.

The performance of LEGENDARY YEARS, which finished tailed out, was considered unacceptable.

Before being allowed to race again, LEGENDARY YEARS will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Horse No 11 PRESTIGE RICKY (K009) C L Chau Raced keenly in the early stages.

Held up for clear running between the 400 Metres and the 300 Metres.

C L Chau was issued with a final warning for using his whip in a manner which was raised above shoulder height on a number of occasions over the concluding stages.

Horse No 12 ILLUMINOUS (J170) K Teetan Jumped only fairly.

From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.

Raced keenly in the early stages.

Near the 550 Metres was steadied to avoid PRESTIGE RICKY and was shifted to that runner's outside.

Approaching the 300 Metres was steadied when momentarily crowded by CHARITY TOGETHER (M Chadwick) which shifted in.

M Chadwick was advised to exercise more care.

A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Horse No 13 CHARITY TOGETHER (K254) M Chadwick From the outside barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.

Shifted out near the 500 Metres and made contact with FLYING LUCK.

Horse No 14 ORIENTAL SMOKE (E467) B Thompson Raced very wide and without cover for the majority of the event.

A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
