Recap by phillip woo

Ka Ying Attack cleared to the lead 1,000m out from gate five and never looked back, leading by two lengths on straightening en route to a third win from six starts. Everyone's Star ran on nicely for second without threatening the winner after a patient ride fourth last from gate 12. It was another good run carrying six pounds more following a win. Well-backed late Yuen Long Elite found a couple too good after a box-seat run. It was another honest performance. Favourite Crossborderpegasus again proved very hard to steer but still got up for fourth after making his run one from the rear. He's very talented but is his own worse enemy. Punted late California Bay whacked on one-paced when asked for more after a speed-tracking run from gate four. It was a better effort at his second local run, but he might be one better ridden conservatively.

Racing Incident Report

Race Nine : (725) - FO TAN HANDICAP - Class 3 - 1400Meters

Horse No 1 CROSSBORDERPEGASUS (K008) H Bowman When questioned H Bowman stated that he was given no specific instructions other than to settle where comfortable.

He said with the early stages of the event being run at a genuine pace CROSSBORDERPEGASUS settled further back than what he had anticipated.

He said when placed under pressure in the Home Straight, whilst his mount lay in, it responded to his efforts to shift to the outside of EVERYONE'S STAR.

He added when placed under pressure near the 200 Metres CROSSBORDERPEGASUS hung in and as a result he was not able to fully test the horse over the final 200 Metres.

Trainer J Size stated that he had applied blinker with one cowl to the horse today in an attempt to improve its racing manners and would now consider giving the horse a break from racing.

A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

The Stewards determined that as a warning was placed on the horse's racing manners at its last race start it will now be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and ridden out in that barrier trial to demonstrate to the Stewards that its racing manners have improved prior to being permitted to race again.

Sent for sampling post-race.

Horse No 2 AERIS NOVA (J534) K C Leung After being placed in the starting gates became fractious, lowered its head and a result was removed, inspected by the Veterinary Officer and passed suitable to start.

After the event K C Leung reported that his mount travelled only fairly during the event and failed to respond to his riding in the Home Straight and lacked concentration during the race.

A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Horse No 11 TARGET AUDIENCE (K107) A Badel Withdrawn on 29.5.25 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (lame right hind).
