Racing Incident Report
Race Five : (741) - LAI ON HANDICAP - Class 4 - 1000Meters
Horse No 1 DANCING CLASSICS (J060) H Bowman Leaving the 600 Metres BINGO BABE (K Teetan) improved into a run between HAPPY ACTION and AMAZING FUN where there was doubtful room.
A short distance later HAPPY ACTION (B Thompson), which was having its first race start, lay out, resulting in BINGO BABE being taken out onto AMAZING FUN and causing DANCING CLASSICS to be severely checked when crowded by AMAZING FUN.
K Teetan was reprimanded and advised to ensure that he improves into runs where there is sufficient room to do so.
B Thompson was also reprimanded and advised in similar circumstances he would be expected to make a greater effort to straighten his mounts than what he did on this occasion.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race found that horse to have sustained a laceration to the right front cannon.

Horse No 2 AMAZING FUN (H442) C L Chau Crowded at the start.
Horse No 4 CHEVAL VALIANT (E336) P N Wong Apprentice P N Wong (CHEVAL VALIANT) pleaded guilty to a careless riding charge for causing interference shortly after the start (see BINGO BABE).
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 5 LAHORE (K043) Z Purton On jumping was bumped by BLUE BARON which shifted in, resulting in LAHORE becoming unbalanced.
Horse No 6 HAPPY ACTION (K399) B Thompson In the middle stages lay out, resulting in its rider B Thompson having to correct his mount on a number of occasions.
Near the 150 Metres was steadied when positioned close to THE ALL ROUNDER.
Over the concluding stages, when placed under pressure, then lay out and was steadied when positioned close to THE ALL ROUNDER.
Horse No 8 THE GOLDEN KNIGHT (K341) L Hewitson Jumped only fairly and shortly after the start was steadied when crowded for room between NOBLE DELUXE which shifted in and away from STRAIGHT TO GLORY and THE ALL ROUNDER which shifted out slightly.
Horse No 10 STRAIGHT TO GLORY (K340) J Orman Jumped awkwardly.

Horse No 11 MAJESTIC DELIGHT (K189) L Ferraris Jumped only fairly.
Horse No 12 BLUE BARON (J448) A Badel Shifted in at the start and was bumped.
Horse No 14 BINGO BABE (K115) K Teetan Apprentice P N Wong (CHEVAL VALIANT) pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding [Rule 100(1)] in that shortly after the start she allowed her mount to shift out when not clear of BINGO BABE, resulting in BINGO BABE having to be severely checked to avoid CHEVAL VALIANT.
Apprentice Wong was suspended from riding in races for a period to commence on Saturday, 28 June 2025 and to expire on Sunday, 6 July 2025 on which day she may resume race riding (3 Hong Kong racedays - as she is not eligible to ride at Happy Valley).
In addition, Apprentice Wong was fined the sum of $15,000.
In assessing penalty, the Stewards determined the carelessness grade 2 and the consequences grade 2 and also considered her poor race riding record.
Leaving the 600 Metres improved into a run when there was not quite sufficient room to do so and as a result was crowded shortly after when HAPPY ACTION shifted out.
Near the 500 Metres BINGO BABE was crowded by HAPPY ACTION which again shifted out.
As a result BINGO BABE could not be fully tested between the 500 Metres and the 300 Metres.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

After leading as expected from gate nine, Cheval Valiant kept finding to just beat Straight To Glory for a fourth win over the straight 1,000m from 39 starts. Straight To Glory found one just too good after sitting close to the speed in the centre of the track. He appreciated a return to the course and distance of a debut fourth two runs ago after a 1,200m failure. Lahore kept on gamely after chasing the winner for third from gate 13. He's a winner waiting to happen. Blue Baron added value to the Quartet after a handy run on the stands side from gate 14. It was one of his better runs six starts at his initial try over the straight 1,000m. Moon Rocket just missed fourth prize money after making his run better than midfield near the far side after a sluggish start. Noble Deluxe just held his ground when asked for an effort travelling midfield in the centre of the track. Dancing Classics was always among the backmarkers after copping a bump following a sluggish start before failing to find after copping a severe check near the 500m.
