After travelling one-out, one back, Raging Rapids just overhauled post-time favourite Do Your Part in the concluding stages for a first win at his eighth start. It was his best run to date, but he was able to brush off a troubled run last start. Do Your Part found one too good after reclaiming the lead from World Hero 200m out following a pace-stalking run from the 950m. He's held his form well to placing in back-to-back runs. Only U ran on for third without threatening the top two after a wide with cover trip from midfield. He has run well without winning this season. Early favourite World Hero just held on for fourth after emerging with the lead 950m out from gate seven. The three-year-old has had an honest campaign. The Heir was getting going late near the outside to just miss fourth prize money after a patient ride third last from gate 10. It was a typical performance.

Horse No 2 SAVVY WARRIOR (K257) H Bowman A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Horse No 3 DO YOUR PART (J444) L Ferraris Noted to have blood at the mouth on arrival at the Start.

Was examined by the Veterinary Officer and passed suitable to start.

Sent for sampling post-race.

Horse No 4 SUPER LOVE (K118) P N Wong After the event Apprentice P N Wong stated that the instructions were to hold a handy position.

She said when her mount made contact with the left side of its starting gate and lost ground it settled further back in the field than intended.

Horse No 5 THE HEIR (H459) J Orman Shortly after the start became unbalanced when bumped by CARRYON SMILING which shifted out.

Horse No 6 AUTUMN VIBES (K150) A Atzeni After the event A Atzeni stated that he was instructed to settle his mount where comfortable.

He said when the early and middle stages of the event were run slightly outside of standard time AUTUMN VIBES held an on-pace position but was obliged to race wide and without cover when unable to cross runners to its inside.

Horse No 8 SMART FAT CAT (K280) K C Leung Slow to begin.

Leaving the 300 Metres was checked when crowded between ONLY U and SAVVY WARRIOR which shifted out and away from AUTUMN VIBES when that runner was taken out slightly by RAGING RAPIDS (K Teetan) which shifted out.

K Teetan was severely reprimanded and advised that he must ensure he is sufficiently clear when shifting ground.

Near the 450 Metres made contact with ONLY U when being shifted to the outside of SAVVY WARRIOR to obtain clear running.

Horse No 10 BILLION TWO (K212) C L Chau Jumped awkwardly, became unbalanced and lost ground.

A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Horse No 11 CARRYON SMILING (J392) M Chadwick Shifted out at the start and was bumped.

After the event M Chadwick stated that his mount lay out making the turns in the middle stages and finished the race off only fairly in the Home Straight.

Horse No 12 D STAR (G374) B Thompson From the outside barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.

The performance of D STAR, which finished tailed out, was considered unacceptable.

Before being allowed to race again, D STAR will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Horse No 14 ONLY U (J037) H Bentley Near the 450 Metres was hampered when bumped and taken wider by SMART FAT CAT (K C Leung).
