Racing Incident Report
Race Six : (844) - SUPER OASIS HANDICAP - Class 4 - 1650Meters
Horse No 1 ENDUED (K033) H Bowman Near the 1100 Metres raced keenly when being steadied to allow SATIRICAL FAN to cross.
After the event H Bowman stated that his mount raced keenly throughout the early and middle stages and was unable to finish the race off in the Home Straight.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 2 SUNDAY'S SERENADE (J231) Y L Chung Bumped shortly after the start.
Y L Chung was issued with a warning in relation to using his whip on the horse near the 150 Metres when it was not responding to his riding and out of contention.
Horse No 3 CHAIN OF GOLD (J138) Z Purton Over the final 100 Metres lay in and away from NORTHERN BEAST and as a consequence proved difficult to ride out to the finish of the event.
Horse No 4 COURIER ALADDIN (J387) A Hamelin Raced wide and without cover in the early stages.
Near the 800 Metres was hampered when taken wider by NORTHERN BEAST which shifted out to improve.
The performance of COURIER ALADDIN, which finished tailed out, was considered unacceptable.
Before being allowed to race again, COURIER ALADDIN will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race found that horse to be a "roarer" which had previously been reported.
Horse No 5 GALAXY WITNESS (G110) E C W Wong Jumped only fairly.
Horse No 6 NORTHERN BEAST (H233) A Atzeni Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 7 SATIRICAL FAN (J214) J Orman Near the 200 Metres WAH MAY WAI WAI improved into a tight run to the inside of STERLING WONGCHOY.
A short distance later STERLING WONGCHOY obtained a narrow run to the inside of NORTHERN BEAST (A Atzeni) which then shifted in under riding, resulting in STERLING WONGCHOY being taken in onto WAH MAY WAI WAI and causing SATIRICAL FAN which was giving ground to steady.
A Atzeni was advised to exercise more care.
After the event J Orman stated that, in his opinion, the horse may not have appreciated the "Good to Firm" track conditions.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 8 SETANTA (G095) L Ferraris From the outside barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
Horse No 9 AMAZING RUN (H401) K Teetan Jumped awkwardly.
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 10 LESLIE (E471) M F Poon Bumped shortly after the start.
Horse No 11 STERLING WONGCHOY (H273) K C Leung Raced tight to the inside of NORTHERN BEAST near the 200 Metres.
Horse No 12 WAH MAY WAI WAI (J193) M Chadwick Raced tight to the inside of STERLING WONGCHOY near the 200 Metres.

Thumped to jump favourite, Amazing Run rallied nicely near the outside to just collar Northern Beast for back-to-back wins to go with a third from his three starts following a return to the Valley. He will remain in the grade and can win another next season. Northern Beast found one just too good after taking off from midfield 700m out to lead 500m out. He's always a chance over this course. Chain Of Gold ran on well along the inside for third after a rails run from midfield. He's a winner waiting to happen at this level. Setanta dashed well to just miss a placing after settling wide at the rear from gate 12. He's a well-rated runner on a win off 56 last year. Sterling Wongchoy gradually faded after working forward three wide to track leader Satirical Fan from gate 11. Wah May Wai Wai had his chances but found a few too smart after getting all the favours in the box seat. Galaxy Witness ran on without threatening after making his run two from the rear. After a prominent run, early favourite Endued found nothing when push came to shove.
