Racing Incident Report
Race Seven : (845) - SWEET ORANGE HANDICAP - Class 3 - 1650Meters
Horse No 1 DEFINITIVE (K037) K Teetan Jumped only fairly.
Near the 1400 Metres was steadied when momentarily crowded by SAMARKAND (C L Chau) which shifted in before being corrected by its rider.
C L Chau was reprimanded.
After the 200 Metres made contact with ROMANTIC LAOS due to both runners shifting ground.
After the event K Teetan reported that his mount, which was carrying the top weight of 134 lbs, did not travel well during the race.
He said when asked for an effort in the Home Straight DEFINITIVE did not respond to his riding which he attributed to the horse carrying the top weight.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Horse No 3 ROCKET SPADE (G170) H Bowman Jumped only fairly.
Horse No 4 ROMANTIC LAOS (G476) H Bentley After the 200 Metres made contact with DEFINITIVE due to both runners shifting ground.
After the event H Bentley reported that under pressure in the Home Straight his mount raced in a one-paced manner.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 6 HIGHLAND RAHY (J298) Z Purton Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 7 PRESTIGE ALWAYS (J300) K C Leung After the event K C Leung reported that his mount was unsuited by the race being run inside of standard time throughout the early and middle stages.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 8 PRESTIGE GOOD (K131) J Orman Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 9 IVY LEAGUE (H116) K De Melo Lay in over the final 200 Metres and proved difficult to ride out.
Horse No 10 THE LION KING (K265) E C W Wong From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 12 GOOD LUCK BABE (K016) Y L Chung Over the concluding stages could not be ridden out to the finish when positioned close to SAMARKAND.

After crossing to lead on the fence 1,350m out from gate 12, favourite Highland Rahy kept on gamely for a third win to go with three placings from his past six starts over the Valley 1,650m. He did it in class-record time and does have the tools to win more next season. The sensationally backed Prestige Good dashed well to just miss after a one-off trip from behind midfield. It was his best effort in Class Three. Ivy League worked home nicely for third after a wide trip travelling three from the rear. He was suited by the race tempo. A Americ Te Specso made ground late for fourth after biding his time two from the rear. It was his best effort from four runs after back-to-back wins but he was likely suited by the quick pace. Samarkand kept on one paced after a prominent run wide without cover from gate 11. He will be a force to be reckoned with if he finds his way into Class Four. Rocket Spade ran on without threatening after making his run five back on the fence. Good Luck Babe weakened after chasing the leader from gate one. Romantic Laos came up flat after a rails run from better than midfield.
