Race Seven : (7) - MA ON SHAN HANDICAP - Class 4 - 1200Meters
Horse No 2 FANTASTIC FUN (J364) H Bowman Over the concluding stages could not be ridden out to the finish when held up behind KA YING RESILIENCE.
Horse No 3 LOVING VIBES (J359) L Ferraris Lay in when placed under pressure in the Home Straight and near the 100 Metres was corrected by its rider.
Over the concluding stages could not be ridden out when awkwardly placed close to the heels of PATCH OF WATCH.
After the event L Ferraris stated that his mount travelled satisfactorily during the race but did not respond to his riding over the final 200 Metres of the event.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 4 VICTORY CHAMPION (K240) K C Leung Jumped only fairly.
Lay in in the early stages of the Home Straight.
Had some difficulty obtaining clear running between the 350 Metres and the 250 Metres when being shifted to the outside of SEA SAPPHIRE and CALIFORNIA DEEPLY.
Sent for sampling post-race.

Horse No 7 KA YING RESILIENCE (J439) K Teetan A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Horse No 8 SEA SAPPHIRE (H343) A Atzeni After the event A Atzeni stated that his mount did not show sufficient pace to hold a more forward position and as a result was obliged to race very wide and without cover for the majority of the event.
Horse No 10 COLOURFUL WINNER (J312) M L Yeung After the event M L Yeung stated that his mount was obliged to race wide and without cover for the majority of the event and, in his opinion, may be better suited by being stepped back up in distance for its next race start.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 11 GROOVY FEELING (J515) Z Purton Bumped at the start.

Horse No 12 LUCKY STATEMENT (J521) Y L Chung Had its right hind plate adjusted in the Parade Ring, was examined by the Veterinary Officer on arrival at the Start and passed suitable to race.
Horse No 13 YODA'S CHOICE (J146) H Bentley Bumped shortly after the start.
Horse No 14 PATCH OF WATCH (H476) P N Wong Shifted out at the start and was bumped.

Groovy Feeling settled wide with cover behind midfield and just got up in the late stages with two wider out for a maiden win at his eighth start. The writing was on the wall following a placing at his final outing last term. Victory Champion zipped home late down the outside to finish a close second after peeling widest out 250m out travelling last after a tardy start. It was an eye-catching debut performance. Noble Fans stayed on well to snatch third after a wide and with cover trip from midfield. He did place second two runs ago at his first attempt over the Sha Tin 1,200m. Favourite Ka Ying Resilience knocked up late after having to work a bit to lead from gate 10. He should come on from the outing. Lucky Statement ran on steadily for fifth after a one-off trip from midfield. He prefers a longer trip. Punted late California Deeply made ground late without threatening after settling second last from a tricky gate. He's more effective at the Valley.
