Kempes came with a withering run from last and without a clear run for a good part of the stretch drive to just deny Harold Win by a lip for a first win at his eighth local start. He appreciated the step back to the Sha Tin 1,200m of a rallying fifth two runs ago. Harold Win did everything right but get the win after surging to the lead 100m out from better than midfield. He has good overall form on the Sha Tin turf. New Future Folks ran on nicely with two wider out for third after making his run wide and with cover travelling behind midfield from gate four. It was a good effort on his season debut following throat surgery. Six Pack made good ground late down the outside for fourth after making his run second last from gate 12. It was a nice return to the races after a ligament injury 11 months ago. Favourite Akashvani tired late after making the lead 300m out following a speed-tracking run from gate 13. He likely worked a bit too hard early in the run.

Horse No 1 SIX PACK (K061) H Bowman From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.

Horse No 2 NEW FUTURE FOLKS (J418) K Teetan Jumped awkwardly and then raced tight to the inside of HAYDAY shortly afterwards.

Horse No 3 HOLMES A COURT (J511) Y L Chung A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Horse No 4 PRESTIGE ALWAYS (J300) C Y Ho Near the 150 Metres was steadied when crowded between ONE MORE (L Ferraris) which shifted to the outside of LUCKY PLANET to improve and KEMPES (A Atzeni) which was being shifted to the inside of HAROLD WIN to obtain clear running.

Both L Ferraris and A Atzeni were advised to exercise more care.

Horse No 5 HAROLD WIN (J280) C L Chau Bumped at the start.

After the 1000 Metres was eased to avoid HAYDAY (Apprentice E C W Wong) which shifted in when not clear.

Apprentice Wong was advised to exercise more care and to ensure that he is sufficiently clear when shifting ground.

Held up for clear running between the 400 Metres and the 300 Metres.

Sent for sampling post-race.

Horse No 7 SUGAR SUGAR (G016) K De Melo Bumped at the start.

Horse No 9 AKASHVANI (K234) L Hewitson Shortly after the start shifted in, made contact with SIX PACK and became unbalanced.

Shifted out after the 100 Metres and was bumped.

Sent for sampling post-race.

Horse No 10 ONE MORE (K261) L Ferraris Held up for clear running between the 400 Metres and the 300 Metres.

Near the 200 Metres ONE MORE was shifted to the outside of LUCKY PLANET to continue into clear running.

For a short distance near the 100 Metres had difficulty obtaining clear running when improving to the inside of AKASHVANI.

Horse No 11 LUCKY PLANET (H235) M F Poon Shifted in at the start and was bumped.

Horse No 12 ONE MAN SHOW (K409) K C Leung On jumping was crowded between EVERSTAR and LUCKY PLANET which shifted in when being corrected by its rider.

Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event.

Horse No 13 EVERSTAR (K264) M L Yeung Bumped at the start.

Raced very wide and without cover for the majority of the event.

A veterinary inspection immediately following the race found that horse to be displaying an airway abnormality pending further assessment.

Horse No 14 KEMPES (J265) A Atzeni From the outside barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.

Between the 400 Metres and the 200 Metres was held up for clear running.

Approaching the 100 Metres was then steadied when improving into a narrow run between HAROLD WIN which shifted in slightly and AKASHVANI which shifted out slightly.

After the 100 Metres KEMPES was then bumped by AKASHVANI which shifted out.
