Recap by phillip woo

He Was You found the lead from gate three and was much too good for a maiden win in a very quick time at his ninth start. He appreciated the downgrade at his first run back following knee surgery in May. Sonic Boom ran on well down the outside for second after a rails run from better than midfield. He's given a good sight to place in both course and distance starts from three outings this term. Noble Deluxe just held on for third after a prominent run one off the fence. It was another honest effort, but he did have his chance. Oriental Surprise caught the eye to get up for fourth after a wide trip towards the rear from gate 12. He can bob up at any moment. Early favourite Sky Song had his chance but only plodded after sitting on the leader's back with cover. He's in the right grade but is more effective on a fast track at the Valley. Something Jonah ran on without threatening after a rails run from behind midfield.
