Racing Incident Report
Race Six : (138) - TIN HA SHAN HANDICAP - Class 4 - 1650Meters
Horse No 2 PRESTIGE RICKY (K009) R Kingscote R Kingscote reported that his mount was fractious in the barriers and when being assisted by the starting gate handler its bridle shifted, resulting in it becoming unsecured.
He said as a result in the early stages he was obliged to reach forward to reposition the bridle to its correct position.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 3 SEA CHARIOT (K358) C L Chau C L Chau reported that his instructions from a wide barrier were to endeavour to find cover.
He said as a consequence his mount settled further back in the field than its previous race starts so as to comply with his instructions.

Horse No 4 SHANGHAI STYLE (J093) H Bowman Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event.

Horse No 7 GLORIOUS JOURNEY (J137) C Y Ho On jumping was crowded by YODA'S CHOICE which shifted in.
Over the concluding stages could not be ridden out when crowded to the inside of LESLIE (M F Poon) which shifted in.
M F Poon was advised to exercise more care.
Prior to declaring weighed-in C Y Ho viewed the patrol films to ascertain if there were sufficient grounds to lodge a protest/objection.
When he was satisfied there were not sufficient grounds he declined to lodge a protest/objection and weighed-in was declared on the numbers semaphored by the Judge.
Horse No 8 CALIFORNIA STAR (J123) Y L Chung Slow to begin.
Horse No 9 MAGIC COSMOS (J411) D Probert The performance of MAGIC COSMOS, which finished tailed out, was considered unacceptable.
Before being allowed to race again, MAGIC COSMOS will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 10 SPEEDY TRIDENT (K230) K Teetan Approaching the 1500 Metres was briefly tightened by SHANGHAI STYLE which lay in and away from FASHION LEGEND.
Horse No 12 YODA'S CHOICE (J146) L Ferraris Shifted in at the start and was bumped.
L Ferraris stated that he was obliged to make too much use of his mount in the early stages to lead and as a consequence YODA'S CHOICE finished the race off only fairly in the Home Straight.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Punted late, Leslie swooped with one wider out after travelling fourth from the rear and three wide for a fourth win from 46 starts. It's been a while between drinks but he was running on well last start. Shanghai Style did everything but get the win after leading 50m out following a one-off trip settling third from gate four. It was a better effort third up on his return to his favourite dirt surface. The well-backed Youth Power just got his head down for third after a prominent run on the fence. It was a good effort at his first start on dirt. Glorious Journey just failed to get up for third after a one-off trip from behind midfield. It was another honest performance. California Star was making good ground late down the outside for fifth after travelling last following his usual slow start. He is his own worst enemy. Yoda's Choice gradually faded after clearing to the lead 1,200m out from gate seven. He was again unable to hold his own in this grade after a Class Five win. Meepmeep failed to make his presence felt after biding his time second last from gate 12. It was a disappointing effort with a step up to his preferred 1,650m.
