Recap by phillip woo

Punted late Charming Babe enjoyed a dream run in the box seat from gate one and reeled in long-time leader Bits Superstar 50m out for a second win from 14 starts. He was able to build on a third last month. Bits Superstar kept on gamely for second after leading from gate three with the claim well utilised. It was a better performance second up with a return to his preferred Valley 1,200m. Favourite Thunder Prince ran on steadily for third after a rails run from midfield. He can bob up at any moment with placings in back-to-back runs following a stable change. Free Pony plugged on one paced for fourth after a prominent run one off the fence. It was clearly his best effort from seven local starts following a stable change. Rewarding Buddy made some ground late down the outside for fifth after a one-off trip from behind midfield. He went okay after waking up with a near win last start. Club Ace weakened after a speed-tracking run from gate seven. He's still to turn the corner in four starts this term. Sight Happy was a late withdrawal by order of the stewards on veterinary advice.
