Racing Incident Report
Race One : (217) - CLASS 4 1000M TURF HANDICAP - Class 4 - 1000Meters
Horse No 1 FLOWING RICHES (K293) M L Yeung Shifted out at the start and was bumped.
M L Yeung reported that his mount lay out and away from SMART GOLF after the 200 Metres.
He added that after the 100 Metres when he used the whip in his left hand he aggravated an old injury to his left shoulder which restricted him being able to fully apply the whip over the concluding stages.
Jockey Yeung was subsequently examined by the Chief Medical Officer and passed fit to fulfil his remaining riding engagements.
Horse No 2 SIGHT HERMOSO (L003) B Avdulla Bumped on jumping.
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 4 AQUAMAN (K523) A Badel Jumped only fairly and then was bumped by FLOWING RICHES which shifted out.
Near the 450 Metres made contact with FORTUNE WARRIOR and became unbalanced due to both runners shifting ground.
Horse No 6 CHATER FLASH (L082) J McDonald Bumped heavily at the start.
Near the 200 Metres was shifted to the outside of HYANNIS STAR to obtain clear running and over the concluding stages could not be ridden out when being eased to avoid HONORARY which shifted in.
J McDonald reported that his mount raced greenly throughout the event.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 8 HONORARY (K481) K C Leung Bounded on jumping and lost ground.
After the 150 Metres was shifted to the inside of GET FRIENDLY to continue into clear running.
Horse No 9 LUCKY PLUS (L018) M Guyon Bumped on jumping.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 10 PACKING GLORY (L013) Z Purton Jumped only fairly.
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 11 SMART GOLF (L004) M F Poon When placed under pressure over the final 300 Metres hung out, resulting in its rider M F Poon having to stop riding and straighten near the 150 Metres.
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 12 VIVA FIRECRACKER (L065) M Chadwick Bumped heavily at the start.
Between the 250 Metres and the 150 Metres had difficulty obtaining clear running and approaching the 200 Metres blundered when being shifted to the inside of FLOWING RICHES.
Horse No 13 HYANNIS STAR (K331) A Atzeni Shortly after the start made contact with CHATER FLASH and became unbalanced.
Raced greenly throughout the event and near the 150 Metres was steadied when crowded between LUCKY PLUS and FLOWING RICHES which lay out and away from SMART GOLF when that runner shifted out as it hung out.
Horse No 14 FORTUNE WARRIOR (H229) H Bentley Near the 450 Metres made contact with AQUAMAN and became unbalanced due to both runners shifting ground.

After travelling fourth last following a slow start, debutant Packing Glory responded nicely near the far side to take control 300m out for a smart win. He's got a very bright future. Sight Hermoso ran on well for second from better than midfield near the stands side. It was another good run. Get Friendly kept on gamely for third after sharing the lead with Lucky Plus on the stands side from gate 13. It was a good debut performance. Cap Liner ran on steadily to just finish out of the placings after a midfield run from gate 14. He's run well in both starts. Firming favourite Smart Golf gradually faded after prompting the early pace from gate four. He failed to live up to wins in all four lead-up trials but should have gained valuable experience. Superb Boy came up one paced after a handy run near the far side from gate one. It was an OK effort. Viva Firecracker made only a mild bid through the centre from behind midfield.
