Racing Incident Report
Race Two : (285) - VENUS HANDICAP - Class 4 - 1650Meters
Horse No 1 NOBLE PURSUIT (H324) H Bowman Bumped at the start.
Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event.
Horse No 2 FUN TOGETHER (H041) C L Chau Bumped at the start.
C L Chau stated that his mount, which was stepping up to the 1650 Metres tonight, would derive a benefit from tonight's experience.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 5 PRESTIGE RICKY (K009) B Avdulla From the outside barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
Over the final 250 Metres was badly held up for clear running and as a consequence could not be ridden out to the finish.
Horse No 6 PING HAI COMET (H344) M L Yeung Bumped at the start.
Horse No 7 ABSOLUTE AWAKENED (K039) Z Purton Near the 500 Metres was steadied to avoid GREAT LEGACY when that runner was giving ground.
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 8 GREAT LEGACY (K187) M F Poon Bumped at the start.
M F Poon reported that he was given no specific instruction but when caught wide in the early stages he elected to allow his mount to stride forward to avoid covering additional ground.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
The performance of GREAT LEGACY, which finished tailed out, was considered unacceptable.
Before being allowed to race again, GREAT LEGACY will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
Horse No 9 PRINCE ALEX (G307) H Bentley Jumped only fairly.
Horse No 10 JOYFUL PROSPERITY (H213) M Guyon Jumped only fairly, shifted out and was then steadied to avoid FUN TOGETHER when that runner shifted in slightly.
Near the 350 Metres raced tight to the inside of GREAT LEGACY when that runner shifted in slightly whilst giving ground.
Horse No 11 SETANTA (G095) A Atzeni From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.

Horse No 12 KASA PAPA (G312) H Doyle Approaching the 1500 Metres was steadied when momentarily crowded between JOYFUL PROSPERITY and NOBLE PURSUIT which shifted in before being corrected by its rider H Bowman.
H Doyle reported that the intention was to hold a forward position but her mount jumped only fairly and then did not show sufficient pace in the early stages to hold a more forward position.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Absolute Awakened got dragged to have three behind him upon straightening before quickening strongly with two wider out to win going away 60m out for a maiden success at his seventh start. Setanta charged home late for second after making his run one from the rear. It was his best effort from five starts this term. Turin Warrior found a couple too good after darting through along the inside to lead 200m out following a rails run from midfield. It was another good run carrying 4lb more following a win. Amazing Award just held his ground after settling in the one-one spot from gate 11. He rarely produces a bad run over the Valley 1,650m. Noble Pursuit made some ground for fifth after a wide and without cover trip travelling midfield from gate six. Ping Hai Comet had his chance but came up one paced over the last 100m after a box-seat run behind the leader. It was a better effort at his second start this term. Favourite Kasa Papa ran on without threatening after making his run three from the rear. Prestige Ricky was badly held up for a run near the inside over the final 150m following a patient ride two from the rear.
