Race Six : (289) - SATURN HANDICAP - Class 3 - 2200Meters
Horse No 1 ROMANTIC THOR (K012) H Bowman Bumped on jumping.
H Bowman stated that from a wide barrier the connections agreed that the horse should be ridden in a conservative manner in the early stages.
He said ROMANTIC THOR raced too keenly during the race and as a result did not finish the race off in the Home Straight.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 2 WROTE A NEW PAGE (K226) H Bentley H Bentley reported that his mount enjoyed a comfortable run during the race outside LIVEANDLETLIVE and did not quicken when asked for an effort in the Home Straight.

Horse No 3 LIVEANDLETLIVE (K156) M Chadwick Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 4 SNOWFIELD (K251) A Atzeni Jumped awkwardly.
After passing the winning post SNOWFIELD sustained an injury to the right front leg and was immediately treated by the Veterinarians.
After it was determined that the injury was too severe for the horse to be saved SNOWFIELD was euthanised.
Samples were taken from the horse.
Horse No 5 TURIN MASCOT (H165) J Orman From the outside barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
Horse No 7 STURDY RUBY (H207) C Y Ho Bumped on jumping.
Horse No 8 CHARITY GAIN (H431) L Hewitson L Hewitson stated that his mount was obliged to race wide and without cover for the majority of the event and as a result did not run on in the Home Straight.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Near the 900 Metres was steadied to avoid SNOWFIELD.
Approaching the 50 Metres was shifted to the outside of THE AUSPICIOUS to continue into clear running.

Post-time favourite The Auspicious had a prominent run and drove late to just collar early favourite Liveandletlive by a lip for a fourth win and third this season from 19 career starts. He's in terrific form and handled the step up to 2,200m with aplomb. Liveandletlive was just pipped late after getting his own way in front from gate four. He's racing well without winning. Punted late Money Catcher surged late through the centre to just take third after making his run five back on the fence after a slow start. He's proving a hard one to get right on his day. Snowfield just failed to place after a rail run from midfield. It was another honest effort. Enthralled ran on steadily for fifth after a one-off trip from behind midfield. Agenda was next best but did get every chance following a box-seat run. Aestheticism made some ground through the centre without threatening after making his run five back and one off the fence. Sturdy Ruby picked off a few from near the rear. Wrote A New Page didn't find much after a speed-tracking run from gate eight. It was a disappointing effort at his first start over 2,200m.
