Race Seven : (290) - JUPITER HANDICAP - Class 4 - 1200Meters
Horse No 1 FORTUNE WHISKEY (J153) M F Poon After travelling a short distance was hampered when crowded between GENIUS BABY and REWARDING BUDDY which shifted out.
Horse No 2 THE ALL OUT (K291) A Atzeni L Hewitson (AWESOME TREASURE) pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding [Rule 100(1)] in that approaching the 1000 Metres he allowed his mount to shift in when not clear of THE ALL OUT, resulting in THE ALL OUT having to be restrained to avoid the heels of AWESOME TREASURE, shifting out and making contact with JOLLY COMPANION, resulting in THE ALL OUT having to be checked.
L Hewitson was suspended from riding in races for one Hong Kong raceday to be conducted on Thursday, 1 January 2026 at Sha Tin.
In assessing penalty, the Stewards determined the carelessness grade 2 and the consequences grade 2 and also considered his very good race riding record.
Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event.
Horse No 3 FREE PONY (K229) M L Yeung Near the 150 Metres was shifted to the outside of GLORY CLOUD to continue into clear running.
Horse No 4 GENIUS BABY (K132) K Teetan After travelling a short distance bumped with FORTUNE WHISKEY and became unbalanced.
Horse No 5 SWEET BRIAR (H044) H Bentley Shortly after the start made contact with REWARDING BUDDY due to both runners shifting ground.
H Bentley stated that his mount jumped awkwardly, made contact with AWESOME TREASURE and lost ground.
He said despite riding his mount along in the early stages SWEET BRIAR did not show sufficient pace to hold a more forward position.
Horse No 6 CHEVAL VICTORIOUS (J458) H Bowman After travelling a short distance was checked to avoid GENIUS BABY when that runner was taken out.
Horse No 7 ABSOLUTE LUCKY (K070) L Ferraris Jumped only fairly.
Horse No 8 REWARDING BUDDY (J373) C Y Ho Shortly after the start made contact with SWEET BRIAR due to both runners shifting ground.

Horse No 10 AWESOME TREASURE (E435) L Hewitson Bumped at the start.
L Hewitson pleaded guilty to a careless riding charge for causing interference approaching the 1000 Metres (see THE ALL OUT).
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 11 JOLLY COMPANION (H454) H Doyle Approaching the 1000 Metres was bumped heavily on the hindquarters, resulting in JOLLY COMPANION becoming unbalanced.
H Doyle stated that after being heavily contacted on the hindquarters making the first turn she felt there may be something amiss with the horse and as a consequence she was reluctant to fully test it thereafter.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Horse No 12 GLORY CLOUD (H320) D Probert Lay out making the first turn.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race which included an endoscopic examination showed a substantial amount of blood in the horse's trachea.
Before being allowed to race again, GLORY CLOUD will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

Sensationally-backed Awesome Treasure had an easy time in front from gate six and kept finding for a third win and second at the Valley from 35 starts. He was allowed to get away with soft fractions after putting the writing on the wall with a close fourth last start. Rewarding Buddy ran on nicely to finish a clear-cut second after a rails run from midfield. He's a winner waiting to happen with placings in three of his past four starts. Fortune Whiskey stormed home late down the outside for third after making his run two from the rear. He's always a chance over this Valley trip. Early favourite Genius Baby ran on well for fourth after finding a spot one off travelling behind midfield from gate 10. It was a good effort carrying 8lb more following a win. Roman Crown was swamped late for a placing after a one-out, one-back run. He was given every chance by Maxime Guyon. It was a long way back to Absolute Lucky who gradually faded after chasing the winner on the fence from gate one. Last-start winner Free Pony came from near last to finish next best.
