Outsider Kaholo Angel had a dream run on the fence but had to settle for a dead-heat with Helene Feeling after racing to the lead 100m out for a seventh win from 33 starts. Punted late Helene Feeling surged late to finish level for the win after taking closer order from behind midfield to sit handy wide and without cover 600m out. It was another fine performance carrying top weight. Well-backed Huge Wave ran on nicely near the inside to finish a close third after a rails run from behind midfield. He's made a huge impression in both Valley 1,650m starts this term. Soleil Fighter had to settle for fourth after poking his head in front 200m out travelling effectively one-out, one-back. He's honest as the day is long. Steps Ahead ran on late for fifth after a wide run with cover from just off midfield from gate 10. Regal Gem was on his tippy toes 100m out after changing tactics to lead one off outside Harmony N Blessed from gate eight. It wasn't a bad effort at his first run over the Valley 1,650m. Punted late Jumbo Legend came from the rear of the pace to just miss a pay cheque for connections.

Horse No 1 HELENE FEELING (H215) H Bowman Raced wide and without cover from the 800 Metres.

Sent for sampling post-race.

Horse No 2 STEPS AHEAD (J263) H Doyle Shortly after the start shifted in and away from HARMONY N BLESSED and made contact with I CAN.

Near the 150 Metres was eased when racing in restricted room between KAHOLO ANGEL and HUGE WAVE.

Horse No 3 SOLEIL FIGHTER (J127) A Atzeni Near the 150 Metres shifted in and made contact with REGAL GEM as it was being corrected by its rider.

Horse No 4 HUGE WAVE (J197) H Bentley Shifted in at the start and made contact with TELECOM FIGHTERS.

Leaving the 250 Metres was shifted to the inside of REGAL GEM to obtain clear running.

Horse No 5 KAHOLO ANGEL (H216) E C W Wong Sent for sampling post-race.

Horse No 7 REGAL GEM (K258) Z Purton Near the 150 Metres was bumped by SOLEIL FIGHTER which shifted in before being corrected by its rider A Atzeni.

Z Purton stated that, in his opinion, the horse did not run out the 1650 Metres of tonight's race.

A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Sent for sampling post-race.

Horse No 8 JUMBO LEGEND (G266) K Teetan Jumped awkwardly.

From the outside barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.

Horse No 9 SHANWAH (L123) L Hewitson Jumped only fairly.

L Hewitson reported that making the turns in the middle stages his mount lay out towards I CAN and did not appear to appreciate racing around the Happy Valley circuit.

A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Horse No 10 TELECOM FIGHTERS (D482) H T Mo Became unbalanced when bumped at the start.

Trainer Y S Tsui stated that the instructions were to ride the horse with cover tonight as it had not been finishing its races off when leading.

He added TELECOM FIGHTERS settled slightly further back in the field than what he had anticipated.

Horse No 11 I CAN (H381) M F Poon Shortly after the start was steadied when crowded between REGAL GEM and STEPS AHEAD which shifted in and away from HARMONY N BLESSED.

Horse No 12 FALLON (H219) M L Yeung M L Yeung reported that his mount would be better suited by being stepped up in distance for its next race start.

A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
