Racing Incident Report
Race One : (293) - WONG CHUK WAN HANDICAP - Class 4R - 1400Meters
Horse No 1 MOTOR (K165) K C Leung Bumped on jumping and became unbalanced.
Near the 550 Metres became unbalanced when momentarily crowded between FALCON HUNTER and GORGEOUS VICTORY which shifted in slightly.
K C Leung reported that under its top weight of 135 lbs MOTOR did not run out the 1400 Metres of today's race.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 2 SALON S (K585) M F Poon Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 3 TURIN CHAMPIONS (L024) H Bowman Leaving the 450 Metres was bumped on a number of occasions by SUPER DRAGON which shifted out, resulting in TURIN CHAMPIONS becoming unbalanced and shifting in.
H Bowman pleaded guilty to a careless riding charge for causing interference approaching the 200 Metres (see SUPER DRAGON).
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 4 BLASTED TALENT (L091) M Guyon Approaching the 200 Metres was steadied to avoid CROSSBORDERDUDE (B Avdulla) which shifted in before being corrected by its rider.
B Avdulla was reprimanded.
Horse No 7 GORGEOUS VICTORY (L087) Y L Chung Bumped on jumping and became unbalanced.
Near the 550 Metres shifted in and was bumped.
Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event.
Horse No 8 JOLLY BRILLIANT (K498) M Chadwick Jumped only fairly.
Held up for clear running between the 400 Metres and the 250 Metres.
Over the concluding stages could not be ridden out to the finish of the event when held up behind JUST FOLLOW ME.
Horse No 9 SUPER DRAGON (K389) Z Purton Jumped only fairly.
Near the 750 Metres was steadied when momentarily crowded by TURIN CHAMPIONS which shifted in when racing greenly before being corrected by its rider H Bowman.
H Bowman was reprimanded and advised in similar circumstances he would be expected to straighten his mounts sooner than what he did on this occasion.
Leaving the 450 Metres endeavoured to shift out to obtain clear running to the outside of CROSSBORDERDUDE and as a result made contact with TURIN CHAMPIONS on a number of occasions.
When SUPER DRAGON was prevented from shifting out by TURIN CHAMPIONS, SUPER DRAGON then was checked when disappointed for clear running.
Z Purton, rider of SUPER DRAGON, was advised to exercise more care.
H Bowman (TURIN CHAMPIONS) pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding [Rule 100(1)] in that approaching the 200 Metres he allowed his mount to shift in when insufficiently clear of SUPER DRAGON, resulting in SUPER DRAGON having to be checked when it lost its running to the inside of TURIN CHAMPIONS.
H Bowman was suspended from riding in races for one Hong Kong raceday to be conducted on Sunday, 18 January 2026 at Sha Tin.
In assessing penalty, the Stewards determined the carelessness grade 2 and the consequences grade 2 and also considered his excellent race riding record.
Horse No 11 FOREVER FANCY (K354) D Probert Raced wide and without cover until near the 700 Metres.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 12 STAR ELEGANCE (K536) J Orman Slow to begin.
Horse No 13 MAZING GRACE (K166) R Kingscote Made contact with the right side of the starting gate on jumping.
From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
Between the 350 Metres and the 250 Metres was held up for clear running.
For a short distance approaching the 100 Metres had difficulty obtaining clear running when being shifted to the outside of BLASTED TALENT.

Salon S led and never looked back for another easy win in a good time despite a rise in trip. He's two-from-two and there's clearly more to come from him. Turin Champions ran on nicely for second after travelling wide and three from the rear and switching off heels 380m out. Crossborderdude stayed on nicely for third after a one-off trip from behind midfield. it was an improved effort. Just Follow Me grudgingly gave way for fourth after a speed-tracking run from gate 10. It was an improved effort following the addition of cheek pieces. Chill Partners kept on well for fifth after a rails run from better than midfield. It was encouraging effort on debut. Early favourite Super Dragon didn't have much luck in the run when held up and hampered in the straight drive after a wide trip travelling third last from gate 13. Newcomer Blasted Talent had an excuse when having to check 200m out following a one-off trip from midfield.
