Recap by phillip woo

Punted late World Hero tracked the speed from gate 12 before going for home on top 400m out and keeping up a strong gallop for back-to-back wins. He's in a rich vein of form. Argento Ocean found one too good after travelling in the box seat from gate eight. He is always a chance at this level. Favourite The Heir surged late near the inside for third after making his run behind midfield after a tardy start. He is as honest as the day is long. Rainbow Seven just plodded when asked for more after a handy run along the inside from gate one. He did have his chance. Firming late in betting, Fatal Blow stayed on well for fifth after a handy run wide without cover the entire trip despite gate three. He had an excuse. Genius Baby was doing his best work late without threatening after biding his time fourth last from gate five. Master Lucky just held his ground after a one-off trip from better than midfield. Amazing Victory ran on without threatening after making his run at the rear from gate 11.

Racing Incident Report

Race Seven : (611) - ONE CITY TWO PASSIONS 1200M HANDICAP - Class 4 - 1200Meters

Horse No 1 ARGENTO OCEAN (K322) B Avdulla Sent for sampling post-race.

Horse No 2 AMAZING VICTORY (G123) J Orman From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.

Held up making the Home Turn and in the early stages of the Home Straight and did not obtain clear running until near the 250 Metres.

Horse No 3 MASTER LUCKY (K582) A Atzeni Jumped only fairly and shortly after the start made contact with RAINBOW SEVEN.

Raced keenly throughout the middle stages and for some distance near the 800 Metres was steadied to avoid ARGENTO OCEAN.

In this incident MASTER LUCKY shifted out and made contact with FATAL BLOW.

Bumped near the 400 Metres.

Horse No 5 RAINBOW SEVEN (K145) Z Purton Bumped shortly after the start.

The Stewards considered a protest/objection lodged by Z Purton, rider of 4th placegetter, RAINBOW SEVEN, against ARGENTO OCEAN being declared 2nd placegetter alleging interference on the Home Turn.

After viewing the videos and considering the evidence the Stewards found that RAINBOW SEVEN became unbalanced near the 400 Metres when crowded for room between GREAT LOOKING which shifted out slightly when giving ground and ARGENTO OCEAN (B Avdulla) which shifted in slightly.

As the Stewards could not be comfortably satisfied that had the interference not have occurred that RAINBOW SEVEN would have finished in advance of ARGENTO OCEAN the protest/objection was overruled and weighed-in was declared on the numbers semaphored by the Judge.

B Avdulla was advised to exercise more care.

Horse No 6 THE HEIR (H459) J Moreira As the start was effected lunged forward and made contact with the starting gate.

As a result THE HEIR was slow to begin.

Approaching the 400 Metres was steadied to avoid GREAT LOOKING when that runner was giving ground, resulting in THE HEIR shifting out and making contact with MASTER LUCKY.

Approaching the winning post could not be ridden out when held up behind WORLD HERO.

Sent for sampling post-race.

Horse No 7 FATAL BLOW (J484) C L Chau Near the 800 Metres was bumped by MASTER LUCKY which shifted out.

Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event.

Horse No 8 SUPERB BOY (G335) P N Wong Jumped awkwardly and lost ground.

Shortly after the start then made contact with CALIFORNIA DEEPLY.

Horse No 9 TRENDY RUSH (L209) H Bowman From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.

Horse No 10 GREAT LOOKING (J198) E C W Wong E C W Wong stated that his mount became unbalanced making the Home Turn when under pressure and weakened noticeably thereafter.

A veterinary inspection immediately following the race found that horse to be a "roarer" which had previously been reported.

As this was the 3rd consecutive occasion that GREAT LOOKING had finished tailed out, the Stewards ruled that it must perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in consecutive barrier trials and be subjected to an official veterinary examination before being allowed to race again.

Horse No 11 WORLD HERO (J413) H Bentley Blundered on jumping.

Sent for sampling post-race.

Horse No 12 CALIFORNIA DEEPLY (G451) M Chadwick Bumped shortly the start.
