Horse No 1 SOUTH STAR (K153) C L Chau Held up making the Home Turn.

As this was the second occasion that SOUTH STAR had bled, the horse is ineligible to run in any race conducted by the Club in the future.
Horse No 2 SUPER EXPRESS (K245) B Avdulla When questioned B Avdulla stated that his instructions were to go forward but attempt to find cover if possible.
He said from the outside barrier after commencing well he was obliged to continue forward to cross ANODE and KA YING ATTACK to avoid racing wide when there was no opportunity to obtain cover.
He said after positioning to the outside of GOLD PATCH near the 900 Metres SUPER EXPRESS, which was racing in blinkers for the first time, commenced to race keenly which resulted in the horse being positioned approximately half a length in front of GOLD PATCH.
He said although he was aware he was running inside of standard time he was unable to set a more sustainable pace due to the racing manners of the horse.
He added in the Home Straight when under pressure SUPER EXPRESS hung in and proved difficult to ride out.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Sent for sampling post-race.
