Recap by phillip woo

Podium after a patient ride third last quickened nicely with one wider out to mow down favourite Soaring Bronco in the final strides for a third win from 36 starts. He appreciated a return to the track and trip of minor placings in three of eight past starts. Favourite Soaring Bronco found one just too good after surging to the lead 180m out following a prominent run on the fence from gate nine. It was another fine effort carrying 5lb more following a last start win. Smiling Emperor ran on nicely for third after making his run three from the rear. He appreciated a return to the course and distance of his only win. Early favourite Verbier stayed on for fourth after a rails run from better than midfield. It was another honest effort over the Valley 1,650m. Noble Fans ran on late down the outside for fifth after making his run one from the rear. It was an improved effort with a step up in distance and switch to the Valley at his second run down in Class Five. Casa Legend came from last and with two wider out to finish next best. Lucky Blessing tamely faded after going forward to lead at a good clip from gate 12.
