Recap by phillip woo

Dashing Maurison made his own luck in front from gate nine and was much too smart for a first win at his 11th start. The wet track and return to the Valley worked the oracle at his second start down in Class Five. Splendid Force ran on nicely near the inside for second after a rails run from behind midfield. It was a career-best effort following a downgrade. Family Fortune came from last and with one wider out to just snatch third. It was another good effort carrying 3lb more with a step up to 1,800m following a win. Favourite Perfect Pairing just failed to get up for third along the inside after a patient ride third last from gate five. He has performed well each time on a wet track. Kasa Papa just missed a top four spot with a move through the centre after getting posted three wide until slotting one off travelling behind midfield 1,500m out from gate 10. Island Golden made some ground late with two wider out after making his run second last from gate four. Happy Buddies was yielding ground over the final 100m after rushing forward three wide to eventually sit outside the leader 1,000m out from gate 12.

Horse No 1 CELESTIAL HARMONY (K059) K Teetan Crowded shortly after the start.

Lay in under pressure in the Home Straight.

K Teetan stated that his mount travelled keenly in the early stages but did not run on in the Home Straight.

Trainer B Crawford advised that, in his opinion, CELESTIAL HARMONY failed to run out 1800 Metres under its top weight of 135 lbs.

He added that he would now consider dropping CELESTIAL HARMONY back in distance for its next race start.

A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Horse No 2 DILBAGH (K055) R Kingscote Taken out shortly after the start and made contact with ISLAND GOLDEN.

Near the 1100 Metres was steadied to avoid CELESTIAL HARMONY.

A veterinary inspection immediately following the race found that horse to have bled from both nostrils.

Before being allowed to race again, DILBAGH will be required to perform satisfactorily in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
