Well backed late Bottomuptogether had a perfect trip in the box seat from gate four and got up 100m out for a sixth win from 20 starts. He's now two-from-two over the Valley 1,000m. Glowing Praises ran on nicely for second after a prominent run one off the fence. It was a good effort at his first start over the Valley 1,000m after back-to-back seconds at Sha Tin. Favourite Colourful King ran on nicely for third travelling one off in midfield after a sluggish start. He's as honest as the day is long over the Valley 1,000m. Punted late Candlelight Dinner knocked up late after leading 250m out following a speed-tracking run. It wasn't a bad effort up in grade off a light weight. Sensationally backed Magic Control just failed to get up for fourth after a rails run from better than midfield. He's not far off a rating bottom. Stellar Express was on his tippy toes 100m out after rushing forward to lead on his own from gate nine. He's much more effective over the minimum trip at Sha Tin. Akashvani ran on without threatening after making his run two from the rear. He requires a longer sprint trip.

Racing Incident Report

Race Seven : (651) - SEOUL HANDICAP - Class 2 - 1000Meters

Horse No 1 STELLAR EXPRESS (J186) B Avdulla Shifted in abruptly on jumping and made contact with GLOWING PRAISES.

Near the 150 Metres made contact with BOTTOMUPTOGETHER when it shifted in and away from CANDLELIGHT DINNER.

Horse No 2 COLOURFUL KING (K227) Z Purton Jumped only fairly and shifted out slightly.

COLOURFUL KING then made contact with YOUTHFUL SPIRITS and as a result blundered.

Sent for sampling post-race.

Horse No 3 BOTTOMUPTOGETHER (J316) L Ferraris Approaching the 250 Metres was steadied when briefly racing tight to the inside of STELLAR EXPRESS which shifted in before being corrected by its rider B Avdulla.

Near the 150 Metres BOTTOMUPTOGETHER made slight contact with STELLAR EXPRESS when it continued to improve into a narrow run to the inside of STELLAR EXPRESS which shifted in and away from CANDLELIGHT DINNER.

Sent for sampling post-race.

Horse No 4 MAGIC CONTROL (J333) K Teetan Bumped on jumping.

Over the concluding stages raced tight between CANDLELIGHT DINNER and GLOWING PRAISES, both of which shifted ground slightly.

Horse No 5 BRAVE STAR (G268) M L Yeung Jumped only fairly.

M L Yeung stated that, in his opinion, his mount would be better suited by being stepped back up in distance for its next race start.

A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Horse No 6 AKASHVANI (K234) H Bentley Shifted in on jumping and made contact with COLOURFUL KING.

Shortly after AKASHVANI became unbalanced when bumped by GLOWING PRAISES which shifted in.

H Bentley stated that with his mount dropping back in distance from 1400 Metres to 1000 Metres he was obliged to make use of it throughout the event to hold his position.

He said as a result AKASHVANI finished the race off only fairly in the Home Straight.

A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Horse No 8 GLOWING PRAISES (L223) P N Wong On jumping was crowded by STELLAR EXPRESS which shifted in abruptly.

As a result GLOWING PRAISES shifted in and made contact with AKASHVANI.

Sent for sampling post-race.

Horse No 9 YOUTHFUL SPIRITS (J082) M Chadwick Jumped only fairly and then was steadied when crowded between COLOURFUL KING and AKASHVANI.

M Chadwick stated that the intention was to be more forward but after being crowded at the start his mount raced keenly when settling back in the field.

A veterinary inspection immediately following the race found that horse to be a "roarer" which had previously been reported.

Horse No 10 CANDLELIGHT DINNER (J468) A Badel Bumped on jumping.

Approaching the finish was bumped on the hindquarters by MAGIC CONTROL.

As a result CANDLELIGHT DINNER became slightly unbalanced which prevented its rider A Badel from riding his mount out fully to the finish of the race.
