Race Nine : (824) - RIDING HIGH TOGETHER 1600M HANDICAP - Class 4 - 1600Meters
Horse No 1 JUMBO STEPS (L269) C Y Ho Bumped on jumping.
Horse No 2 CHILL PARTNERS (K484) L Ferraris Held up for clear running between the 400 Metres and the 300 Metres.
Horse No 4 MEGA MASTERMIND (L044) A Badel A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 5 PRESTIGE HALL (K040) E Brown Approaching the 900 Metres improved to the inside of LUCKY BALERION as that runner was being shifted in.
Leaving the 900 Metres then became unbalanced when crowded between AMAZING DUCK which maintained its position away from the rail and LUCKY BALERION which shifted in.
E Brown stated that with his mount stepping up in distance he was able to hold a more forward position than its most recent starts.
He said in the Home Straight PRESTIGE HALL did not respond to his riding and raced in a disappointing manner.
Trainer D J Hall stated that the horse hade pleased him leading into the race and may have reached the end of its preparation.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 6 ACE (K307) C L Chau C L Chau stated that after jumping only fairly and then being bumped at the start he was obliged to make use of the horse in the early stages to hold a handy position.
He said in the Home Straight ACE finished the race off only fairly.

Horse No 9 BEST WORLD (L329) B Avdulla Jumped only fairly, shifted out and made contact with ACE.
Horse No 10 FLYING BOOM (K327) K C Leung Near the 400 Metres lay in when being shifted to the outside of JOLLY BRILLIANT and as a result was steadied to avoid JOLLY BRILLIANT.
Horse No 11 LUCKY BALERION (L125) M F Poon Jumped awkwardly.

Horse No 12 AMAZING DUCK (H392) Z Purton Leaving the 900 Metres made contact with PRESTIGE HALL.
Horse No 13 FAMILY FORTUNE (H447) E C W Wong Shifted out at the start and made contact with JUMBO STEPS.
Near the 850 Metres became unbalanced when momentarily crowded by NINJA DERBY which shifted in despite the efforts of its rider when being steadied to avoid KA YING SUPERB.
Horse No 14 NINJA DERBY (H339) L Hewitson In the early stages raced keenly.
For some distance near the 1000 Metres got its head up when being steadied to avoid KA YING SUPERB.
Between the 400 Metres and the 250 Metres was held up for clear running.

Favourite Jolly Brilliant was wide with cover in midfield and just got up in the concluding stages for a first win at his eighth start. He should remain in the grade and can win again. Lucky Balerion found one just too good leading 50m out after working forward to sit three wide without cover on the speed 1,000m out from gate 12. He's a winner waiting to happen with seconds in back-to-back runs following a step up to 1,600m. Amazing Duck just held on for third after assuming the lead 300m out following a one-off trip sitting third with cover from gate one. He's as honest as the day is long but has trouble winning.
